Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

For My Brother

Songs with true meaning and honest lyrics are the ones that really stick with audiences or at least really stick with me. Knowing the emotion behind this song and coupling that with Jhene’s whimsical vocals makes for a very special track. For those that don’t know, this song is dedicated to her brother Miyagi who sadly passed away last week having suffered from Cancer. Fortunately Aiko was able to play the song to him before his untimely passing.

“I wrote and recorded this myself on my lap top, for my brother…. Miyagi . this song was really just intended for him to hear….. but i thought it would be nice to share… i was so nervous to play it for him myself, so when i left to San Francisco on Thursday I had my TT play it for him… She said his breath got calm as he listened and i know he heard every word… later that night he became the angel he was born to be and i am so grateful that he got to hear this before he left on his infinite journey… now i hear him telling ME , what i was singing to him… to not give up… i love you SO much Miyagi!!!! Everything x2 now. Everything for you now…”

The Cure

J. Cole samples Watch The Throne‘s ‘Lift Off‘ to cook up ‘The Cure‘ for us. Unleashed as a freebie on his website, Cole brings us back to his mixtape era, reminding us he’s still hungry and still has much to prove. I’ve got a feeling we’ll be hearing a new set from Young Simba very soon.

‘Kaleidoscope Dreams: Water Preview’

Admittedly i’ve never really paid much attention to Miguel in the past however upon hearing his new single ‘Adorn‘ I instantly became interested in him and what he had in store for his sophomore album. Taking a more unconventional route to releasing an album and following the success of his recent Art Dealer Chic EP series, he has decided to release his new album in EP format. He will release two EP’s with 3 tracks on each before finally putting the EP’s together and adding 5 new songs to complete as an album release in October. Kaleidoscope Dream is the name of the album with Kaleidoscope Dream: Water Preview being the name of the 1st EP in this series.

This pick was of Tara‘s doing. Normally she doesn’t go awff for Ricky Rozay like that but this tune just gets her feeling all kinds of good. Her actual words were “I usually hate Ross…but this tune omggggg”. I guess that says it all doesn’t it lol.

North Hollywood

Lucille Ghatti is California based singer/songwriter, ‘North Hollywood’ is taken from her upcoming project ‘High Grade’. Her soft vocals come with a  mellow/ almost trippy beat- it’s quite a chilled cut. This is the first I’ve heard from her, sounds like High Grade could be promising.
