Film Review | Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap

posted by on 31/07/2012

The reason why rap is not as respected as Jazz or Blues, one MC muses, is because ‘people don’t understand the language’. Try as director Ice T might, by the time the end credits fall on The Art of Rap, there are still a few things that are lost in translation for those who are not rap aficionados. Still, even if total understanding remains elusive, Ice T’s documentary will certainly leave you with an appreciation of rap, and will particularly please fans of the genre.

iPhoneography | London College To Offer iPhone Photography Course

posted by on 30/07/2012

Can you believe this is true? I don’t know how to feel about this to be honest. I understand that times have changed and are changing, we live in a world we technology is a permanent fixture within our lives but this maybe taking it a step to far. To have an actually course dedicated to taking pictures on your phone, does that not sound slightly absurd. The course named iPhoneography: An Introduction to Photography with the iPhone is to be offered by Kensington and Chelsea college. The course is made up of evening classes spanning five weeks and additionally looks into apps as well as the obligatories such as like composition and lighting. Richard Gray, the tutor of the course, said: “I developed the course after discovering there were a lot of people who had an iPhone who didn’t really know how to use the camera.”
