Launched this morning by actor Adam Deacon at St Pancras International station, the competition implores young people to ‘show up and show off’ their talents across the arts, culture and sport in the hope to be one of the 10 winning performers at a secret event during the Olympic games in August. And the competition gets even bigger for one winner; one person will be flown to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to make a ‘show off’ promo film directed by Adam Deacon.
If you’re between 16-25 and have a skill or talent that’s somewhat creative, you can apply. To enter the competition and show off your skills, upload a 60 second video to the somewhereto_ website by July 10th, or wait until the UK regional tour rolls into your city (the team will be lugging a stage around to Belfast, Edinburgh, Preston, Leicester, Sheffield, Cardiff and T4 On The Beach). Adam Deacon will help the somewhereto_ team narrow the finalists down to the winning 10 on July 22nd.
Today, press got a taster of what the tour would look like as Georgia Anderson (SBTV) introduced a brief showcase which featured performances from talented songstresses Dionne Reid and Juliyaa, beatboxing from UK Beatbox Championship finalists YasSon, Bass6 and Experimental, and even a yoyo-yielding don.
