Hola! It sure feels good to be back posting after a bit of a hiatus. Apologies for my lack of posts. I have been busy preparing for my legal practice exams for the past month or so and finally completed my exams last week. As they say in Nigeria, “No be easy ohhhh”!! Anyway, I am delighted to be back with my second instalment of “UnSung heroes” featuring drummer and producer Anthony “Sweetstix” Lewis. Yin Eats: Nani's Cafe

posted by on 08/06/2012

Back again. I don’t have any valid excuse for the lack of posts, guess I slipped into a routine with the lunches as of late. A lot of Pret, Thai green curry, Yalla Yalla and even home-made lunch. Summer is here and it’s time to experiment with my food choices again. I went for a wander around the area in search of a new spot with one of my colleagues, Ricardo. However we ended up at a sandwich café, continues on the reverse.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 07/06/2012

Good morning world. Writing up this post quickly before I set off for a work meeting. This song will bring back memories for many, it’s from most of our teen years – this group were definitely one of a kind at the time and I don’t think we’ve had an R&B group like them since. The video is super corny and budget, inspired by Friends. The lyrics will make most females ‘awww‘ so dudes, take notes. Hop on after the cut and click play.

'Doin' It In The Park' Trailer

posted by on 07/06/2012

Doin’ It In The Park is a documentary centered on the concept and culture of pick-up basketball, an impromptu game where teams are picked just minutes before the game starts based on reputation and instinct. Directed by Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau, the independent documentary showcases legendary basketball courts from the five boroughs of New York against an original score of Jazz, Latin and Afro-Beat music. More than just a sport, but a way of life, ‘Doin’ It In The Park’ features some key players from New York’s outdoor summer b-ball scene including NBA athletes (Brandon Jennings, Kenny Smith, Kenny Anderson), playground legends (James “Fly” Williams, “Pee Wee” Kirkland), national sportswriters and most importantly, the common ballplayer. Hit the jump to see the beautifully shot trailer and for more info!

Xbox Unveil New 'SmartGlass' App

posted by on 06/06/2012

If you own any apple products, you’ll know that there are many apps on the market that hook up your devices e.g. using your iPhone as a remote for your macbook. But now with the new SmartGlass app you’ll be able to connect all of your devices like never before. Hooking up all windows based devices from phones to tablets and PCs to your Xbox, the SmartGlass app will revolutionise home entertainment. When I read about this, I didn’t really understand the full extent of its use but the promo did a good job of clearing it up. From the promo it seems the app allows you to centralise and channel content from the different devices, like channeling content on your TV straight to your tablet, using the voice recognition from the Xbox Kinect and using the touchscreen on your smart phone to navigate your TV. It’s a pretty amazing app, if it works well I think a few heads will convert to Xbox…. Yep you need an Xbox for it to work, but the good news is; it will work with other brands like Apple. (Wise move) Watch the promo after the break
