Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Bolt 3

Just 8 weeks away from London 2012 and Olympic buzz has begun to take over – and last night (Friday 1st June), for the first time in the run up to the games I found myself really catching the fever when in Shoreditch, east London, The Jamaica Olympic Association and PUMA launched the Cedella Marley-designed Jamaica Olympic apparel with a special appearance from Usain Bolt.

Zara Man June 2012 Lookbook

posted by on 02/06/2012

Zara‘s back with their simple and effortless lookbooks – this one offers up summer style tips for the modern man. I’ve always got issues with dressing up in the summer, it’s too bloody hot to wear a blazer, shirt and scarf. Especially on the Central line. I need to inspect the clothing in person first. The collection consists of white, black, bold feminine colours and even a few animal prints. It’s quite a versatile range of clothing that challenges us to mix and match the basics for a relatively smart but casual summer look. More on the reverse.

HMN ALN's Dragon Ball Z x Streetwear Series

posted by on 02/06/2012

My inner-anime nerd just had to post this – Dragon Ball Z is without a doubt one of my favourite anime/manga series ever – it probably impacted the way I am today, teaching me lessons in patience, never-give-up mentality and how evolving to your next level involved a change in hair and eye colour. Nah, playing it is without a doubt in the Top 5 anime series of all time. HMN Aliens/Human Aliens; a project created by fashion illustrator Philip Mimms has taken the classic seires and given several of the key character a streetwear transformation. More on the reverse.

Film Review | Prometheus

posted by on 01/06/2012

It’s been 33 years since Ridley Scott’s Alien, a film which has since gone on to become a classic and is widely regarded as one of sci-fi’s most seminal pieces. After many sequels and spin-offs – some admittedly better than others – the highly anticipated Prometheus heralds Scott’s return not only to the genre, but to his universe, with the film being strongly marketed as a prequel and being said to have ‘strands of Alien-DNA’. Whilst Prometheus just about works as a standalone sci-fi movie, fans of Scott’s aforementioned work may be left disappointed.

Lyle & Scott Heritage A/W 2012 Collection

posted by on 01/06/2012

Now this is a brand that everyone in London associates with chavs and Leicester Square partying student-types but they are so much more than that. Lyle & Scott have switched up things with their new Heritage collection which heavily focuses on the great British coastline using inspiration from the traditional Naval and Maritime dress code to create a style and sophisticated winter collection. The new Head of Design, Caroyln Massey had a heavy hand in with the imagery of this collection, her first collection is due in a year’s time. The dimly lit shoot location helps highlight different aspects and textures of the clothing. More on the reverse.
