Sometimes when you work for yourself its hard to feel inspired and tend to go on a search for it; or it could just knock on your door (my door being my twitter timeline). The good folks at Rosie Lees tweeted about an exhibition by British contemporary Artist Dave White held at the Hospital Club. Having been shown some of his work for Nike and the Jordan brand earlier in the year, it sure wasn’t going to be a disappointment but let’s just say I was flabbergasted. Visuals on the other side.

‘Natural Selection encompasses the beauty, majesty and magnificence of incredibly rare animals. Their threatened existence and battle for survival hangs in the balance, where natural camouflage is no longer a reliable defence, leaving them vulnerable and exposed. The collection explores these dynamics, through the violent, expressive movement and abstracted patination of oil paint and watercolour. Large scale installations and contemporary execution will aim to challenge the viewer to reassess this subject matter in our modern world. Where once we would hunt these subjects for display trophies, now we must face the fact that our impact upon them is threatening their survival.’
