Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Photographer: Patrick Baldwin

A tale of love, defiance and adventure, the girl with the iron claws explores the lengths and breadths the youngest daughter of a king must take to find her true love… a bear, Valemon to be exact. This is the debut show from the theatre company The Wrong Crowd, a collaboration between writer/director Hannah Mulder and designer/puppet director Rachael Canning who ‘share a similar vision for inventive, joyful, provocative storytelling that revels in the wonder of live performances’.

Dope Quote #44

posted by on 03/05/2012

While we love to complain and moan about what’s not going well in our lives i.e. I keep moaning that I cannot find a job. It’s good to bare in mind that the more energy we put into self pity the less time we spend trying to do something about our circumstances and incite change. How can I expect to get a job if I have given up looking for one, it’s just not going to happen. If you play your cards right then maybe you’ll have good fortune.

Yin – Going to invade this post, I agree with what DJB is saying, minus the maybe. I honestly believe success is dependent on effort and you create your own luck as it is preparation meeting opportunity. Talent can take you far but what use is talent without passion and perseverance? Get on with life.

Throwback Thursday

This week the track I’ve chosen is a product of a really unlikely collaboration, back then it didn’t seem so, but now?! The first clue, it features a British female artist… second clue, an American rapper… and finally, it’s about obsessive fans. Find out after the break.

Oprah's Lifeclass Lessons

posted by on 02/05/2012

Those of you who know me personally, will know that I hardly ever watch television. I don’t have one in my room and neither have I ever been interested by the plethora of crap that we’re offered on British TV like The Only Was Is Essex, Made In Chelsea and so on. I don’t understand how people sit through hours of brain numbing TV! I’ve recently started watching Oprah‘s Lifeclass Tour series via her OWN network website which lets you stream each episode, no country restriction which is amazing. My main reason for watching was TD Jakes presence on the panel alongside the likes of spiritual leaders - Deepak Chopra, Iyanla Vanzant, Tony Robbins and wise ol’ Oprah herself. More on the reverse.

A Penguin's Life – Photo Story

posted by on 01/05/2012

Eek, no posts at midnight? Unfortunately not, I crashed around 10:30pm and had the best sleep ever. I could get used to this early sleep thing but I doubt it’ll happen again for a while. This is beautiful, a photo series from NYC-based photographer Camille Seaman gives us an insight into the hardships endured by penguins in the Antarctic. They series shows a different side to the Y&Y coloured little creatures, everything isn’t so Happy Feet-esque. A Penguin’s Life looks into every aspect of the cute birds life from life to death, the way interact with each other and how they come together as a community. Hop on after the cut.

Film Trailer | The Dark Knight Rises

posted by on 01/05/2012

During the past few months, my excitement for Avengers outweighed my anticipation for Christopher Nolan’s final Batman flick, and those of you who have seen Joss Whedon’s superhero team-up will be aware of how much that excitement was justified. But on the short list of possible films to top Avengers (my film of the year thus far), The Dark Knight Rises is at the very top. With the July 20 release date drawing ever nearer, the marketing is guaranteed to kick up a few notches, and today Warner Bros. have unveiled a third (and final?) theatrical trailer for Nolan’s conclusion to his Batman trilogy. You don’t need me to tell you to hit the link, do you?
