Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Flashing Lights

Have you ever been to the cinema and had a guy sit next to you with a notepad? I’m not going to ‘front’ I do that on a regular basis. Aesthetically The Matrix blew mind and a big reason for that was the ‘bullet time‘ scene. That had me pretty much flabbergasted for a good 10 minutes! If you were remotely interested in that, flip over the other side for some geek porn.

Pain. Passion. Poetry. – Why I Sing The Black And Blues

posted by on 30/04/2012

I’ve been having a serious writing block for the last few months, starting things and just not finishing them has been the name of the game for a while.  That, and being so close to graduation, I think is stumping any creativity within me.  So, while I try and find myself, I’ll leave you with the last poem I wrote in full.

The British 10k

posted by on 30/04/2012

Do I run consistently? Nope. Why? I don’t know, not going to use the ‘I’m always busy’ excuse. If I really wanted to run, I’d wake up at 6 every day to do so, that’s when I normally run. So the British 10k takes place in July and I’ve um only just gone and signed up for it. He who has never done any consistent exercise/sport since leaving school, even then I’d find a excuse to skip P.E. I was that kid who chose to be in the library instead of on the track/field. Not for me, I am Indian after all. We’re not the most ‘sporty’ people in the world, continues on the reverse.

Berta Vicente Salas Photography

posted by on 30/04/2012

Berta Vicente Salas is a Spanish photographer, I came across her work very randomly on Flickr and am pretty impressed. Looking at her flickr, she has such a wide scope of photography in her library, she’s really versatile, she’s got THE eye and she’s also quite clearly very creative. Some of her photos are very theatrical as they draw you in, in a way that makes you think of a backstory- some are creepy as hell… i.e the main photo! But I think the photo with the girl manipulating the water in the glass bowl is simply amazing. Berta could shoot my album/single cover any day… more photos after the break.

ASOS Future Stylist 2012 – The Final | Voting Open

posted by on 30/04/2012

I’ve had the most wonderful 4 months working on Future Stylist, I’ve always been about ‘influencer’ marketing and engagement but this project isn’t about throwing product and a press release at a tastemaker. It gives them an opportunity to get their name out there in the fashion world, a platform to shine by doing something they love. So 16 handpicked stylists have battled it out for the final and now we’re down to the final two – Kani from Australia and Jana from Germany. More on the reverse.

Helvetica, My Hero

posted by on 29/04/2012

I went to visit the agency that I interned at a few years back – the one I wrote excessively about (click here) and the one that help shape my career – forever grateful. Nostalgic to say the least, these posters by French student René Mambembe combine nostalgia with everyone’s favourite font, *ahem* helvetica. He’s simplified classic comic book heroes into a letter led poster with a minimalist vector representation of the hero. Hop on after the cut.

Inspiring Quotes + Landscapes = Julian Bialowas

posted by on 27/04/2012

He’s back at it – remember this post a year or so ago? Photographer and graphic designer, Julian Bialowas has teamed up with Shwood Eyewear with a project that revolves around the landscapes around the state of Oregon. It’s all about inspiring people to get out and explore the state with quotes such as ‘Extraordinary things are always hiding in places, people never think to look.‘ It’s the typography – his typographic skills are exceptional – so simple and all the fonts just work perfectly together. Don’t you think? Photography isn’t too shabby either, ey. Have a gander at the rest on the reverse.

Percival Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Film

posted by on 26/04/2012

I feel this brand still slips under many people’s radars with only 300 likes on Facebook. Have you heard of them? My colleague at work first put me onto them last year, Percival is one of a few brands that is designed and manufactured in a glorious. The prices are a bit steep but that’s understandable, production costs in London must be crazy. The quality of the clothing and design definitely warrants the prices. The SS12 fashion film features several models bowling in the new trousers, shirting, outerwear and jersey in the new Percival range. Just a teaser collection of what the brand have cooking up for the fall season.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 26/04/2012

Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of the tragic and untimely passing of Miss Lisa Left-Eye Lopez. With such a spark and spice to her personality it was hard to believe that the good lord upstairs decided that it was her time. As we all should know before she departed she was one member of the very popular group TLC. She left behind great music and a legacy that will forever uphold, Lisa Lopez should never and will never be forgotten. I have assembled a few tracks that she featured in for your listening pleasure.
