We sat down for a coffee with the London-based photographer. There’s even a 2 Chainz reference.

Dr. Martens x Stussy Deluxe | Hambleton II

posted by on 23/03/2012

For someone who runs a ‘lifestyle’ website and who’s kind of gone through the whole streetwear phase, I don’t actually know much about Stussy. Shock horror. I’m not one for the brands, it’s all about style for me. How you wear it & how you style it in your own unique way. When I first got sent the press release a few days back, these really weren’t my cup of tea – looked like the regular Dr. Martens silhouette but in suede.  In person, they’re definitely everything and more! love the tan leather laces. The Hambleton style was first released in Spring 2011; it’s simple in looks, made from high quality suede with an almost moccasin-like contrast with the lightweight welt white outersole. Like I said, I don’t know much about Stussy but this collaboration definitely respects the British boots brand’s heritage and style. More on the reverse.

For you shoe fanatics, here’s the breakdown of the shoe from the press release:

The two eye, moccasin toe footwear style that has become a staple for the Spring is updated with a twist. The Hambleton II will be available in soft and subtle hi suede and is fully lined in leather as opposed to last year’s canvas. The archival Dr Martens sole has colored piping at the top of the sidewall and as tradition with Dr. Martens construction; the Hambleton II was created with welted construction and is executed here in tan leather. The upper and sole are sewn together and heat- sealed, not glued as is the case with many current footwear offerings. Each style will be tastefully finished with the traditional Dr. Martens woven heel loop.

The Hambleton II collection will be available in threee different colour ways – Charcoal (pictured), Navy and Tan at selected Stussy retailers worldwide for around £150 now. See shots of the charcoal colourway below, doesn’t the IU-HQ office floor look amazing?
