Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

PS Vita Advert

posted by on 19/02/2012

It’s fair to say my gaming days are long gone, at least for this part of my life. Once in a while I do relapse, for a few days – like I did over Christmas with Uncharted 3. Completed the game in 3 sessions; the last session started 11am and ended at 2am. Yikes. Portable gaming is one option for folks on the go but that’s an extra bit of weight to carry around. Sony‘s next handheld console Vita hits the stores in just under week’s time on the 22nd. Am I excited by it? No not really. The advert is incredible, if you’re a gamer – you’d appreciate. The ad takes us on a journey through people’s gaming experiences in everyday situations, descending in and out of game-like scenarios from FIFA to battlefields and boxing matches. Will you be buying? Lianne La Havas Live @ The Borderline – Review

posted by on 18/02/2012

On Wednesday 15th February I had the pleasure of attending Lianne La Havas’ headline performance for the HMV Next Big Thing at The Borderline in Soho. Lianne is hot property right now, and justifiably so. With two sold out tours, an incredible live performance on Later…with Jools Holland which resulted in her supporting Grammy award winning band, Bon Iver on their American tour and a host of “big for 2012″ nominations; Lianne La Havas truly is set to blow up this year. As both followers and supporters of Lianne’s music we at Y&Y were fortunate enough to be invited to her intimate show in Soho. Hit the jump to read more about Lianne La Havas‘ incredible live performance at the Borderline.

Music Video | Daley (Feat Marsha Ambrosius) – 'Alone Together'

posted by on 17/02/2012

It’s not often that we post music videos on the site without it being part of Tara‘s Video dukebox series however exceptions can and will be made. Today I am glad to say that we have an exception in the form of Daley‘s new music video for his sickeningly dope track ‘Alone Together’ which features the lovely Marsha Ambrosius. This is by far my favourite song from Daley thus far and i’m so happy that it has received video treatment, whenever I hear this track I just get taken to a different place. I start singing like my name is Usher and feel the music, I’ve stated too many people including Daley himself that this song MUST appear on his forthcoming album which may I add i’m hugely anticipating, dare I say slightly impatient for *Yo D I think your gonna need to gimme me a lil preview of some new tracks to tide me over :D* Anywho peep the monochrome clip on the flipside.

Film Review | Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D

posted by on 17/02/2012

Like a girl who loves bad boys, Cinema loves anti-heroes, and comic books have no shortage of them. Wolverine and Hulk may be among the most popular bad-asses, but Ghost Rider has a strong claim at being the ultimate anti-hero. 2007’s Ghost Rider didn’t manage to depict that effectively, raking in a notable $227 million worldwide but garnering a lot of criticism in the process. With directors of Crank Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine at the helm, is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance the film that the character deserves?

Herschel Supply Co. Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

posted by on 17/02/2012

Just seen the lookbook for Herschel Supply Co‘s spring/summer collection. Herschel are really consistent with their lookbooks there is no doubt about that, however I’m starting to get just a little bit bored. I feel as though their last 3 lookbooks (including the latest) could be merged to create one massive collection because they’re that similar. This is not to say that I haven’t liked any of them, because I am quite fond of this brand. It’s just I would have loved to have seen something a bit different.

H&M 2012 Spring/Summer Collection

posted by on 17/02/2012

Having had to endure the torture that is the Topman Design lookbook I found solace in H&M. H&M are really offering up some good ish for both men and women. With their collaborations with big name luxury brands gaining many acclaim their popularity has never been so high and now their are delivering what seems to be high fashion inspired pieces but with high street prices. The high fashion inspired pieces lay mostly within the women’s collection but the mens offering isn’t too shabby either. Have a gander after the cut.

Goodbye iChat, Hello iMessage Beta + More

posted by on 17/02/2012

YES! Finally, iMessage has arrived for the Mac. This is a great news for me, I’m not very fond of typing on my iPhone. Auto-correct and my lack of touch screen skills make it hella difficult to type on there, much prefer the full QWERTY keypad on my Blackberry. iPhone is my social networking phone; has all the functionality in the world. iMessage isn’t BBM – at least I don’t think that was Apple’s aim and definitely not the way I use it anyway. However I do like having the option of replying to my iMessages/texts via my mac; instead of pausing what I’m doing, picking up the phone and typing a message out, all I have to do is type it out on here and click send. Simples. More on the reverse.

Topman Design 2012 Spring/Summer Lookbook

posted by on 17/02/2012

Okay so i’m gonna need for Topman to either get their act together or cease to make clothes. I am actually starting to get offended by the shaped materials they are calling clothes. Do they really expect me to wear shorts so short that my balls have to potential to catch pneumonia, this is just not on! Maybe i’m being harsh but I just cant with this or the last couple lookbooks that have come from the camp over at Topman. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think, please tell em i’m not the only one who thinks this way.

Canterbury Lifestyle's Summer In The City Lookbook

posted by on 17/02/2012

New Zealand based brand Canterburys younger brother, Canterbury Lifestyle steers back to the brand’s original rugby roots without losing the Ivy League feel that it has developed over the past 5 seasons. The Spring Summer 2012 lookbook shot around Shoreditch features much of the brands recent staple pieces including the delicious green/amber varsity (yes I just described clothes in the same way I’d describe a chicken tikka). Some real nice stand out pieces for me are the varsity,  blue cardigan and the old school aran jumper. More on the reverse, including a video.

Pierre Balmain Spring/Summer Collection

posted by on 16/02/2012

Yes before y’all say it I am aware of the fact that I posted a Pierre Balmain lookbook just a few days ago but you guys will be pleased with the images that are on display in this post. As stated before Pierre Balmian is a subsidiary line created by Balmain to deliver and cater to a younger audience. Having looked at this new lookbook you can really see the youthfulness within this collection, the styling and choice of model compliments what the brand are hoping to achieve. Peep the images on the flipside *sidenote – I am particularly fond of the beige blazer *
