Introducing Tophaz

“Neo Soul, Jaazz flows from the heart of a gem: with notes coming fourth like an instrument from the wall of her soul” – Tophaz
And with that I introduce you to twenty-three year old Mrs Lisa Turner, but its Tophaz to you and I. Rarely are there vocalists, I found, that have the ability and talent to cover songs and personally embroider them. With control, skill and rousing awareness, bodied with individuality, its refreshing to say the least. Nor will I do the predictable and draw compares, a list of who she may sound like. As it really would be quiet unnecessary in this case as I believe she has her own little thing going on. More on the reverse.

#Fact the catalyst pivotal role of it all, is that, she is so compelling. Her talent is so riveting, it gets in your bones, making you wonder of her woes. As she has stated, it’s gone from being homeless to going innnn on her craft. She sites Jon Gibson, Crystal Lewis, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu among others, as her music influences. Her mother sure did stir her in the right direction, when she suggested Jazz as a genre of suit , as mother said Tophaz did. Schooling herself in Jazz , carving her own groove within it. And guys and dolls, its a genre that many cant just fall in too, it gives you the ability to perform with a distinct take on things. Even though as of yet, there are no words being talked of her and no hype lingering over her. One would conclude, in due time the ears will flock like sheep. With that said, having a voice is the key ingredient, but how you dress it and choose to display it, is always without fail the equation to success. Hopefully there is nothing more then good things surrounded by lights in her future.
Take a listen to my favourites:
Adele “One & Only”
Corrine Bailey Rae “Like a Star”
Beyonce “Party”
This is not to say , that the other covers, do not measure up to those listed above.
Make up your own mind peep her @ her YouTube channel.
