Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Zara Young | Evening Lookbook

posted by on 28/11/2011

Zara unleash yet another lookbook this season, these guys must be at it 24/7!  Their shoots are always top quality but this time the high street brand have out done themselves. The main thing I like about this shoot is its dark tone plus careful and coordinated selection of pieces. As always Zara get an A for the styling, simple yet trendy ensembles; and given that this is a lookbook for the ‘Young‘ Zara line, it still captures a mature look that bodes will with the evening theme. Personally I think I would go for the first or second look depending on the occasion, the first look more so for a formal event. Check out the lookbook after the break and head over to their online store… it’s pay day soon!!

Craig Easton's Landscape Photography

posted by on 28/11/2011

Mesmerising. Mind blowing. Magnificent. I’ll run out of superlatives trying to describe Craig Easton‘s landscape photographs of locations around England. My God as much as I love London, I really need to venture more out of the city. LDN.365 allowed me to practice my landscape photography a fair bit and I honestly do think that’s the probably my best style of photography though I don’t do much of it anymore. Craig has managed to add so much life to his photographs, of course a lot has to do with post processing and I don’t feel these at all over edited. It’s just his style and it’s clearly worked in his favour for the past 20 years. More after the cut.

Samsung vs Apple

posted by on 27/11/2011

I wasn’t able to get into posting mode last night as you can tell from the lack of updates. I think after watching Warrior, all I wanted to do was work out and get hench. GASSED. Samsung’s latest video campaign takes a little stab at the Apple hipster fan base. You know the losers that camp outside the Apple stores tweeting and live blogging the happenings overnight in the queue. Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone but there is no way in hell that I’m going to sleep on the streets for a piece of tech that I can just wait a few days extra for. Have a gander at the advert on the reverse.

Losers

The folks over at Everynone continue to impress me with their creativity and this time, they touch the sensitive subject of bullying. Naturally you’d expect a bullying awareness video to shows the everyday life of bullied individuals in short sequences. From extreme close-ups to short clips of the bullying take place; the film highlights the topic well through it’s composition and definitely brings the harsh realities of bullying to life. As always with Everynone, the art direction and production is exquisite even when featuring such a topic.

Lacoste – Tribute & S&S Eyewear 2012 Collection + ATP Finals

posted by on 27/11/2011

A few days ago, Lacoste invited us to the to enjoy the ATP finals with them as they are one of the tournament’s sponsors. Which I honestly didn’t know till I reached the event. We were escorted to the sponsor village, greeted by fabulous staff and waiter/waitresses serving canapes with a buffet on one side of the room. Best believe I fully made use of this indulging opportunity. It was also an opportunity for us to see some early previews of their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Find out what the best of the night was after the cut.

Shakka – 'End of Time' | Beyonce Cover

posted by on 26/11/2011

TALENT TALENT TALENT is the only word that can describe this guy. The fact that he uses his instrument (his voice) to such good effect in this video makes me sick. Why can’t I do that lol. You may be reading this and thinking what the hell am I going on about right? Well Shakka has done a cover of Beyonce‘s ‘End Of Time’ but this isn’t your regular cover, in this cover Shakka adds complexity by using his instrument (his voice) to create the beat as well as sing the song. Peep the Shakkapella (which was shot by my homie Jamell of House of ALT) after the cut and simply watch in awe.

Loving this evening wear lookbook from Zara! Very chic! Contrasting textures, lots of sparkle, sexy dresses; perfect for parties this festive season. Personal favourite is the cute blouse, sequin jacket and pleated bermudas ensemble. Everything looks so wearable… really like the dresses with the asymmetrical hem! Most items are available in store now to purchase or you can shop online.

The Weeknd – The Knowing | Music Video

posted by on 25/11/2011

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you the first set of visuals from extrovert R&B artist, The Weeknd. This is exactly what I had imagined a video from The Weeknd would look like, why? because it’s dark, eerie and trippy as hell. It’ll leave you saying ‘WTF’ or with just a blank face but it works, for a character like Abel Tesfaye such an avant garde video is perfect. The XO clique have teamed up with film maker and art director Mikael Colombu to create this visual masterpiece and it’s definitely not your average music video. You see Abel Tesfaye losing his heart, flying across planets in space ships and more. It’s a dark, twisted fantasy where we see the world splitting when the girl breaks his heart, strong concept. Let me know what you think!

Adidas Originals – I Am The PSM

posted by on 25/11/2011

Funny story, Pauli has been following me on Twitter for over a year now but I never actually got to meet him till last Friday. I dismissed him for just a musician, he’s much more than that – most definitely one of London’s up and coming influencers. He certainly came across as someone passionate about what he does and making a living from just being himself. On top of being a drummer for the Gorrillaz; He is also the front man of his own band, LoveJoy, enigmatic author, photographer and a Coca Cola 2012 Future Flame. Adidas Originals spotted this young visionary and filmed his experience of the sighs and sounds of Brasil, playing sell out show over there, hanging out with Snoop Dogg and just taking in the culture. It’s made me want to go on holiday over there. More on the reverse.
