Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Ema the Kid – The Void

posted by on 19/10/2011

Harlem rapper, Ema the Kid talks about his frustration with modern media influences on women and their desire for plastic enhancements, to which he likens to a heroin addiction, over this Selasse produced beat. Interesting concept. I haven’t heard of a rapper speak specifically about this subject on a song for a while, and with the likes of women like Kelly Rowland discussing theiar body battles & plastic surgery in the press recently….Ema the Kid’s chosen  subject is very topical. Hit the jump to check out this visual offering beautifully filmed by On.CutFilms.

London's Floating River Thames Park

posted by on 19/10/2011

OK. How have I not come across this till now? It’s been on BBC‘s website for over a month now and plans have been talked about since May. Bloody hell, my dislike for news websites & false reporting might be the reason – don’t act like you don’t know. We’re being force fed a whole bunch of cock’n’bull the majority of the time, don’t believe everything you read and see. How many of you have seen New York’s highline park? This is LONDON‘s version. I can definitely see this being a hit! sadly it’s not quite as green as our transatlantic neighbour’s midcity park. Ours is more about cutting-edge design and using the latest tech to create a walkway that’s 10 metres wide and almost a kilometere long that floats on top of River Thames. Damn shame, add more green to it. Not chronic, green grass. More on the reverse.

Gucci Cruise 2012 Lookbook

posted by on 19/10/2011

Gucci have revealed the lookbook for their 2012 spring/summer 2012 Cruise Collection. As you would expect the collection is sleek and simple and fresh.  Whats good about this collection is that it has a good range of pieces from shorts to jackets and all the necessaries in between. This is definitely a collection to be on the look out for come the hotter months next year. Peep the collection on the flipside. Source

Dope Quote #21

posted by on 19/10/2011

I know I usually restrict the quote posts for Monday as I like to leave people with that thought for a whole week but I felt this one had to come to be unleashed today. I watched something so disturbing last night that it reduced me to tears, in fact I was slightly nauseous afterwards. It was sickening, inhuman and something that I pray none of you come across on the internet. I won’t go into detail but a child was runover twice, the car & lorry didn’t stop, people walked by without even helping him and leaving him there to die . I came across it on Facebook because the caption on the post was ‘these F*****ERS NEED TO DIE* – which doesn’t exactly help them or anyone. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, a great Indian man once said that. I grew up with Mahatma Gandhi as my rolemodel before the media corrupted my mind with celebrity nonsense. Seeing that video made me realise how much the world has forgotten about love. Loving thy neighbour by love I mean just HELPING a person in need, how can you not? One should always treat others as one would like others to treat oneself. That brings me to my message - do all things with love. 2 quotes, 1 post. Enjoy your day.

Zara October Lookbook – Man

posted by on 18/10/2011

Yang has posted the lookbook for Zara‘s more youthful collection but it has always been their more grown up and sophisticated offering that has interested me. As one gets older so does his style and although I still like to rock a hoodie every now and then and am very partical to don the latest in streetwear fashion if i’m honest my idea look would be the grown and sexy look. However until i get my arse back into shape I refuse to part with my hard earned cash for ish that I expect to not fit me in a few months time, when i’m back to being slim lol. Peep the lookbook on the flipside.

How To Make It In America – S02E03 Stream

posted by on 17/10/2011

Money, Power, Private school. I’m watching the episode whilst getting ready for work, see this is what Monday mornings should be like. Well add a jog at 6am to the mix then it would be perfect but my body wanted/needed that extra 30 minutes of sleep. Hop on after the cut for a little bit of inspiration in the form of HTMIIA.

Dope Quote #21

posted by on 17/10/2011

Came across the real quote from Rick Warren on Twitter the other day, it’s really relevant to a talk I did last week on renewing one’s mind. So far this year, I’ve been trying to be less judgemental as I used to be far too quick to diss anyone and everyone for no reason whatsoever. It’s hard to change a habit but sometimes you just have to. Being good will never get you in trouble. I think it’s all part of growing up, realising that you’re here for a greater purpose than to please yourself. Character over cool, image over integrity. Internal substance > external appearances always. Happy Monday folks.

Whillas & Gunn – Brown Canvas Webbing Trap Satchel Bag | Product Review

posted by on 17/10/2011

Right. That project I’ve been talking about for a while? I completed my part last night, guess what that means? More posts from me and hopefully way more original content on the site from this day forth. Starting off with a bag from a brand that I’ve been fond of for a while now, Whillas & Gunn, Our friends over at My-Wardrobe just started selling the brand‘s A/W collection on their site earlier this week and my materialistic ways made me instantly purchase a canvas bag. I own more bags than my girlfriend, not sure if that’s a good thing but hey I’m a guy with sartorial needs.

Introducing: eXquire

posted by on 17/10/2011

I met eXquire at the Fool’s Gold afterparty in New York. Amongst the rappers, music industry socialites and booty clapping strippers there stood a charismatic, 6″4 26-year old sporting an impressive array of necklaces and a huge smile. No Jesus piece or facade in sight, I was instantly intrigued by this guy. Later my friend introduced me to him. Exquire, a rapper from Brooklyn, New York who my girl (a Hip Hop dj and good friend who’s opinion I trust) told me had a Biggie Smalls vibe about him. Say what? Some Youtube searches and a mixtape download later, and here I am bumping eXquire’s debut mixtape, Lost in Translation, singing along to an array of comical, narrative, alcohol-induced and somewhat colourful choruses. Here I pick my favourite tracks from eXquire’s mixtape, be warned…this is most certainly explicit content.

We’re baaaaack. Much more solid line-up of songs this week, I feel. Who else has had a relaxed weekend? I’ve spent most of the last 2 days at home, just relaxing and doing work on my top secret project. It’s nice to just stay in and work on something you love. It’s nice to get a break away from the fast-paced city lifestyle. Music for your journeys on the reverse, let us know what you think!
