Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Levi's Made & Crafted Autumn/Winter 2011

posted by on 21/10/2011

I’ve been searching for a nice pair of denim for this season, the cut just hasn’t been perfect. I’m picky with fit. All the Levi denim I’ve bought previously are way too big and since I don’t wear bottoms half way down my arse anymore. Sigh that’s karma for being foolish. If you haven’t heard of Levi’s Made & Crafted then you’re missing out, all premium everything. These are the investment pieces that fashion forward men should be after. Well if you have the money that is! I checked out the collection earlier in the week during my lunch break, hop on after the cut.

posted by on 21/10/2011

We’ve teamed up with American Express again, headline sponsor of the 55th BFI London Film Festival, to offer two lucky readers and a guest the chance to be one of the first to see Bernie on Saturday 22nd October, 6.15 at the Vue cinema in Leicester Square. All you have to do is answer a stupidly simple question after the cut. The answer is in fact in the copy on the reverse.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 20/10/2011

Last week I heard Sean Paul’s latest single ‘She Doesn’t Mind’ and though I like the track, it doesn’t quite compare to his previous offerings and I’m speaking specifically about ‘Dutty Rock’. I’ve chosen Sean Paul’s single ‘I’m Still In Love With You‘  as this week’s throwback track as a reminder of how good he used to be. One thing I can’t help but notice is how much styling has changed over the years in music videos… is it me or has everything gotten tighter and less ‘bling’. But having said that, I like this video even though it is a little bit cheesy. I think the dancing is great too- no Daggering round here!… Watch the Sean Paul classic after the break.

Daniels | 'Puppets' Short Film

posted by on 20/10/2011

So this would be the third video I’ve posted from the Daniels, their work continues to amaze. This short film sees a couple in a scene being controlled by what I can only describe as digital puppets. Half way through the puppets reveal the selves and break into a fight scene which is reminiscent of Dragonball z but also very similar to the combat system in the newer Mortal Kombat games- I think the aim was to produce a satirical piece of what we see on TV/cinema. These guys always come up with the most bizzare effects such as throwing a jar of coins down someone’s throat and pulling out a pole from their behind in the middle of a fight sequence.. yeah.  Watch their ‘Puppets’ video after the beak

Rihanna 'We Found Love' | Music Video

posted by on 20/10/2011

Rihanna today released the music video for the first single ‘We Found Love’ from her upcoming album Talk That Talk. I have to say that this video is actually one of my favourites from her and I say this having only seen the video once. The video features male model Dudley O’Shaughnessy who had the very lucky job of playing Ri Ri’s boyfriend in the clip. although I do say that is is probably my favourite video in a long while from Miss Fenty, I would like to express my slight concern for her disregard to see herself as a role model for the young. While the video in my opinion as a 20 something year old adult is visually stimulating, it does raise an eyebrow when remembering that kids will be watching it during the day, for it reminds me of a Skins episode crammed into a 4 and a half minute clip. What with all the smoking, sex and possible drug taking it seems to capture, one does question whether there is a need for a more tame version to  be shown before the watershed. That being said, I return to my earlier sentiment and say that this is a good video for a song that I had previously been neglecting. Having seen this video I now like the song so much more. P.S it was nice to see Calvin Harris make a short cameo. Peep the clip after the break.

Real Steel | Film Review

posted by on 20/10/2011

Fundamentally, Real Steel takes two types of action films that we’ve had much of in the past – Robot and Boxing – and combines them, with a heartfelt Father-Son story at its core.  It’s such a simple formula; I initially wondered why it had not been attempted previously. But does Real Steel land its punches, or miss the mark? Hit the jump for my SPOILER-FREE review.

Clae 2011 Autumn/Winter Collection

posted by on 20/10/2011

We all know footwear is a weakness of mine and i’m pretty sure i’ve expressed my major lack of funds as of late so it will come as no surprise that while I can sit here and write a post about Clae‘s new 2011 Autumn/Winter Collection I sit here writing with a slight heartbreak at the fact that I will not be able to go on a spending spree purchasing some of these designs. So what I would like you all to do is buy a pair of your favourite to make up for my lack of spend power. I’m going to end the post here now because I’m feeling slightly emotional about my current state lol, peep the collection after the jump.

American Apparel London Flea Market

posted by on 20/10/2011

Oh gosh. Remember the last time American Apparel decided to do a sample sale in London? It was like a prequel to the riots, a teaser of what was coming from the ignorant 1st world youth. Just like last time, they’ve reduced the prices of your favourite AA garments to as low as £1 with almost everything up to 90% off. That’s what they say anyway, a lot of these sample sales love to talk nonsense beforehand. They’ve completely revamped the Truman Brewery so there is more space for everyone to move so it should be pleasant shopping experience. The issue last time was the security which they’ve apparently spent £35,000 this time around with a security team of 24+ people who have experience in crowd control at international events. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a riot. Please hop on after the cut if you want to know more details.

posted by on 19/10/2011

It’s been a little quiet on the Fossil front lately, well from us anyway! Looking through their current collection, they have a solid range of casual watches befitting for the season. We’ve featured one of their casual leather watches here, a dark brown leather and stainless steel combination finished with a chronograph dial for extra functionality and also a trendier look! More photos after the break.
