It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Newham Council Offer Cash Rewards For Info On Crime

posted by on 24/08/2011

Now this is a nice incentive but I’ve got a feeling that people in my borough will just call up and offer false information on any type of incident they see just for the £££. You know how people are these days. Newham Council are giving people an incentive to ‘snitch‘ – that’s what the hood folk call it, I’m more than happy to give information on any serious crime I come across. Give up the hood mentality! The Mayor’s reward scheme is run jointly with Crimestoppers, which offers rewards of up to £1,000. SAY WHAT. Yes, that’s right – £1000. I’m off to buy my bullet proof vigilante outfit, me and Yang will be cruising the streets of East Ham in search of crime with our handy SLRs. Doing it for the good of our borough, not the money of course. Read more information on it here.

The Roots live at Hammersmith Apollo x Questlove Afterparty at East Village Recap

posted by on 24/08/2011

On Friday I was lucky enough to experience the legendary band, The Roots, play an incredible live show at the Hammersmith Apollo (thanks to the Just Elemental team). This was a big deal, anyone who knows Hip Hop, or is a music fan in general will know how innovative and inspiring The Roots’ material has been for the past 25 years, and it was incredible to be able to witness the band live in London for the first time in two years – a place special to the band, which they described as a ‘homecoming’. Hit the jump for more.

H&M Join the Selfridges Roster

posted by on 23/08/2011

Well it’s about time really! H&M have finally joined Selfridges list of concessions and is set to kick off trading this week, which is great news for the average high street shopper. The new concession will feature the bst of H&M’s collections each season meaning key pieces, best sellers and transitionals will be on rotation; exclusive collections will also be up for grabs form time to time. Located on the ground floor where Selfridges have fittingly called ‘street fashion’ H&M will not have a menswear section for this concession, but hopefully in the future? I think it’s now Zara’s turn to join in the action.  Join H&M for the grand opening this Thursday 25th from 9.30am, get ready to for a bargain!

Topman x Mr. Hare Collaboration

posted by on 23/08/2011

How did I miss this when it was originally unveiled in June? Woah. This might be the very first Mr. Hare shoe that I will be able to afford, at least I hope so. My bank account should permit me to spend a sufficient amount without feeling guilt, these are more than likely to be less than £150. Mr. Hare’s shoes in recent seasons have always mixed and matched colours, materials and silhouettes – this is not different. The combination of patent black and white makes for an ideal evening wear shoe – I certainly don’t think every man would be able to pull these off. It’s going to take another level of confidence for me to wear these, in fact I may have to invest in a whole new outfit to work with one of these shoes. Haha. More on the reverse.

Clarks Originals Fall/Winter 2011

posted by on 22/08/2011

I love me some Clarks – need to get myself a pair of wallabees that I actually like. Shamefully bought a green/brownish pair that I have only worn once and it doesn’t seem to go with any of my other outfits. The brands has always stuck to its roots and this collection is now different, they have enhanced it with slight modifications to their models and a few new silhouettes. Take for example the knitted flap version of the Desert Boot. I’m pretty sure that one is for the ladies, I just can’t envision a guy wearing a pair of them. Oh on second thoughts, Shoreditch bozos will come out wearing them with jeggings. I’m digging the black & white photography, it adds a classic feel to the collection which is highly suited to these silhouettes. We’ll be shooting a few Clarks soon, hold on tight. More on the reverse.

Most Intense Timelapse Ever

posted by on 22/08/2011

We’ve posted a plethora of timelapse videos in the past 2 years and this definitely goes up there in the top 3. Why? It’s different to all of the others, it’s INTENSE. Timelapses are usually slow with mellow music so you can visualize and take in all the changes in colour, mood, movement but this timelapse created by ‘TimeFesters‘ at TimeFest 2011 breaks all the traditional boundaries and raises the bar. It has been speeded up at a faster rate than usual, most timelapses are filmed fixed on a tripod without any movement whereas this goes up, down, left and right. Trust, it’s different. You’ll have to see for yourself on the reverse. Not to mention the soundtrack is a dope dubstep beat.
