It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Reebok Presents Prequel To A Classic

posted by on 27/08/2011

Since Swizz Beatz took over the realms of Reebok and was given the task to reintroduce and re-imagine the Reebok Classics brand he has sparked my interest in the brand to heights my interests haven’t seen. Reebok just didn’t do it for me in the past but this new wave of fresh ideas has got me really anticipating the arrival of the new Swizz Beatz related product here in the UK. As I have no idea when that might be I just have to settle for the little snippets of info or promotional gambits that are thrown into the public domain by the brand themselves. Here we in this Prequel To A Classic video we get to see the lead up to the Reebok Classic re-launch party with an interview with Swizz included. Take a look after the cut.

Memorable Movie Moments Captured In GIF Form

posted by on 26/08/2011

O.G. Real O.G. One of the most epic gangster movies of all time – The Godfather. The creators of this blog – If We Don’t, Remember Me that I’ve just come across have spent time converting your favourite movie moments into incredible animated gifs. Not going to lie, some of them seriously creep me out at first. Especially the black and white on after the cut since he’s so still for a while ages then starts randomly moving! This new cinemagraphs craze has seem to have taken the internet by storm. Not complaining though, for the moment till all the crazy tumblr chicks start making Justin Bielieber animations. That kid’s fan base is annoying. Hop on after the cut to see more magical cinema moments, name that movie!

Umbro x Aitor Throup – A.R.P Collection

posted by on 26/08/2011

Yup a day hiatus from me! mainly due to tiredness and the unfortunate wordpress issue we suffered this morning – don’t ask, had a heart attack trying to get it fixed. Lemonstorm (our hosts) was thankfully on hand to help us and get the site back up in no time. Back to blogging – for years I’ve labelled Umbro as a ‘chavtastic’ brand mainly due to its sports world audience, along with brands like Kappa, Kangol and Reebok. So this new collaboration from the English brand with Aitor Throup surprised me a bit, the brand has come a long and has certainly reinvented itself with its sports lifestyle collections. The collection titled A.R.P. (Archive Research Project) takes inspiration from iconic Umbro garments from the past 80 odd years but with an Aitor twist – it mirrors the ‘inside-out’ design and construction pioneered by him. Totally love how he used his unique design techniques to refresh some of the classic designs. Check out the creative space in Dover Street Market where you’ll be able to get your hands on the clothes, more imagery and video on the reverse.

Lacoste Marceau & Delevan Boots

posted by on 25/08/2011

The latest addition to the Lacoste sportswear catalogue take the form of these hybrid of worker and desert boots: Marceau & Delevan boots. The shoes are made with a high quality selection of materials including pure grain leather, brushed suede’s & canvas (Delevan only) and a sturdy rubber sole. Using a colour palette of bold autumn tones; the boots come in a dusky beige, a rusty grey/black, dark brown and navy. These are perfect for the autumn season, warm and comfy but still fashionable; I think I prefer the Marceau boots typically because it sports an all leather body that will hold it’s own against the autumn weather a lot better than the suede & canvas paneling of the Delevan! These are available now online £120 for the Marceau model and £110 for the Delevan; more photos after the break.

Throwback Thursday – Aaliyah Tribute

posted by on 25/08/2011

10 years to the today came the very sad news that one of my favourite music artists at that time Aaliyah had suffered a fatal plane crash. I can remember clear a day where I was and what I was doing when I found out, I was so shocked and saddened all at once. It seems the years have just flow by and now we are at the 10 year anniversary of her passing. I believe BET are set to air a special tribute show remembering the beautiful soul and I feel it’s only right that this week’s Throwback Thursday is dedicated to her. She is very much missed and the very patron of the saying What If……..she was still alive, where would she be now. But instead of dwelling of the what if’s lets remember what she actually brought to the world when she was alive.

Columbiana | Film Preview

posted by on 25/08/2011

Who runs the world?… GIRLS! I am a sucker for femme fatale style action movies with female action heroes. They just get me pumped up. Angelina Jolie has done a few with ‘Tomb Raider” , “Wanted” and ”Salt” all of which I loved and now it looks like Zoe Saldana is also following in Jolie’s footsteps as the latest bad ass chick in the upcoming movie Columbiana. I haven’t seen the film but know that the plot is centred on Saldana’s character, Catalaya who is trained as an assassin and seeks revenge on a group of South American men who killed her parents in front of her. As you can see from the trailer, she kills it in this movie and looks great doing it. Columbiana will reach UK cinemas in September. Check out the trailer
