Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Avengers Teaser Trailer

posted by on 18/07/2011

OKSNDJAKBDNKSABHDSA = my reaction. I’m at work, should be doing work but thought I’d give ya’ll a quick post on the new Avengers teaser trailer that premiered at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger movie. Bit of a spoiler but hey, it saves you having to sit through the credits. I’m pretty sure there will be a better quality version dropping next week at San Diego’s Comic Con. Have a gander at the trailer on the reverse. If it gets taken down, let me know! Right back to work….

posted by on 18/07/2011

After writing the first post, I realised a lot of key points that I had noted down in my head but had later forgotten to jot down on here. Thankful for all the nice comments on my last post and do let me know if it has helped get you that job. I forgot to mention the process of applying for jobs, the killer interviews and more. Right then, let’s get started.

Just came across a pink cotton jumper in the latest edition of Elle and I have to have it! Cos is great for clean-lined, high fashion and affordable pieces. Simplicity is key. I hate fussy clothes and you can make a statement with a sharp minimal dress. Add your personality through accessories and voila! Less is more. Check out the looks on the reverse.

Zo! – Just Visiting Three

posted by on 18/07/2011

Musician, Producer and Foreign Exchange member, Zo! has treated us soul fans to a third instalment in his covers series, ‘Just Visiting‘. The EP features appearances from Phonte, Sy Smith, Eric Roberson, Jeanne Jolly and Anthony David. This EP is perfect for the Neo Soul aficionado who will appreciate both the original versions of the songs, as well as the artists covering them. However, Zo!’s ‘Just Visiting Three’, as well as his previous collections, will benefit the soul novice that wants to delve into the genre. Zo! would probably call himself a pianist/keyboard-player as these are his two main instruments, however the Detroit-born instrumentalist is self-taught on the bass guitar, drums and guitar. More on the reverse.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 Gameplay Videos

posted by on 17/07/2011

My inner geek. I’ve been playing football games for as long as I can remember – started off with the 16 bit game on the Commodore 64! I swear I won 18-0 in that game, was just too easy. I played FIFA 2011 at a friends house last night, won both games – only because I was on my friend’s team and he’s pretty good at the game. I’m a pro evo fan boy, it’s the one game I’ll always make sometime to play! I used to play it religiously during my high school years, matches before and after school  – sometimes even just before bed. That’s how excited I was over this game but it’s constantly let me down since PES6. Just like Arsenal. *cries* It’s time to make that big transfer….and start supporting United. Joke. I mean start playing FIFA. Check out the latest videos of PES 2012′s gameplay. It’s quite ‘meh’. Nothing new!

Twitter & Flickr – Map Art

posted by on 17/07/2011

At first, ya’ll are probably thinking what the hell is that?! Random bunch of dots and noise but wait till you see what’s in store after the cut. The concept is dope – Eric Fischer transforms data into art – he takes data from the photo-sharing website Flickr and Twitter to create a map that reveals how keen the world is on social networking. The image is of London; red dots represent Flickr uploads and blue dots are the tweets. The white dots show us which locations post to both. Twitter seems to be active all over the city whereas Flickr only seems to be more active near the Thames. Maybe it’s because people keep taking photographs of it? More on the reverse.

Pain. Passion. Poetry. – Modern Day Scapegoat

I can’t talk about this too much.  It depresses me in so many ways, but I am so blessed to have experienced it – because I would not be who I am right now if it didn’t happen.

Remember Kenan & Kel?

posted by on 17/07/2011

Nope they are not working on a remake of the show, only I felt a sense of nostalgia after someone posted a youtube clip of the show on my facebook feed. Kenan & Kel was one of my favourite shows growing up, i’m sure everyone would have seen it but it’s one of those shows that you either love or hate because it is really over the top; some scene are a little cringe when I look back but I still love it. One scene I distinctively remember is when Kenan was asked to define the word ‘officiate’ and he said “a man got sick because of eh-fish-e-ate” sadly I still find this moderately amusing. Classic moments include the court scene where Kel confesses accidentally putting a screw in Kenan’s tuna. #goodtimes. Watch a couple clips of the show starting with the famous credits featuring Coolio…way before his tragically receeding hairline of course!

40mm Underworld by James Miller

posted by on 17/07/2011

James Miller is a UK based film maker with an impeccable selection of videos amongst his library. This one is called ‘40mm Underworld‘ a short experimental cropped clip featuring a snail- doesn’t sound like much but you’ll be surprised! While the video is a little creepy as I do not like snails… at all, I really appreciate how technically advanced the film is as well as how unique it is in terms of how it’s cropped. I just think this video is stunning, from the crisp and rich imagery to the colour grading to the tone of the film- simply amazing. The music goes very well with the movement of the snails, the black and white effect and the minimal but very much noticable lighting. James used a Sony NEX FS100 lens to film this, watch the video after the cut.
