Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Jay-Z x Kanye West – Otis | Single

posted by on 22/07/2011

This morning I woke up to news that a song featuring my three favourite artists had been dropped online. I’ve never jumped out of bed so fast, I don’t think even a fire could get me ripping my duvet off of me so quickly! The Kings of Rap, Kanye West and Jay-Z today released, “Otis” sampling soul legend, Otis Redding – Try A Little Tenderness! The song opens with a slowed down version of Otis Redding’s huge hit, before being sped up and cleverly switched into a chopped and looped sample. Jay-Z reminds us he “invented swag” on the first 8 bars before passing the mic onto Kanye warning those he adopted “Phillip Drummond ‘em” (Different Strokes) that have been “talking reckless” of the pair are about to have their Summers “tucked in”. And they most certainly are, I hope that no artist managers are planning to release their rappers albums in the same WEEK as “Watch The Throne“! Short, catchy verses from each rapper to-and-fro throughout the track remind me of an old school clashing session. Continues on the reverse.

Apple's Lion OSX Now Available

posted by on 21/07/2011

I should have posted this last night but fell asleep on my mac :|. Really wanted to play around with it and write a short review but I think I’ll be discovering new features for the next week or so. The new exposé and full screen apps are nifty little features and will definitely come in handy when I’m designing. The new gestures will take me a while to get used to, they’ve changed some of the Snow Leopard ones around so I advice you to head to system configuration > touch pad before you properly get started. Go download it now – click here. It’s a bargain at £20 and the installation is EASY. If you mess it up then you’re a fool, back up before you do anything.

Buy Apple’s Lion OSX – £20.99

The World's Biggest McDonalds @ London 2012 Olympics

posted by on 21/07/2011

Okay so Olympics are all about super fit athletes with perfect bodies running around winning medals whilst other people pay £££ to watch them compete. Instead of using this opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle (very much needed with the obesity)…they have allowed fast food giant McDonald’s to build their biggest ever restaurantin the Olympic Village in Stratford. 3,000 square foot in size and it’s one of four that will be placed around the site. According to estimations, 50,000 Big Macs and 180,000 portions of fries will be sold over the 29 days of Olympic & Paralympic games. I don’t even want to know how much profit it’ll make them! crazy amounts of money. Guess who might be going to see the Olympic site next week? I will try and photograph it for you guys.

Origin London – Exhibition | 30th July – 19th August

posted by on 21/07/2011

Ah I’m proud of young Gabriel. The 17-year old started independent clothing company Origin London last year, released a logo tee to get the name out there and this summer, they are back with four limited edition t-shirts and an exhibition. At 17 years old, all I cared about was football, females and probably under-aged alcohol consumption? This kid already has a venture and direction, I was clueless. For this 2nd drop, he’s teamed up with UK art collectives TIMC (This Is My Costume) and Puck to produce this collection. More on the reverse.

ASOS 2011 Autumn/Winter Lookbook

posted by on 21/07/2011

Check out the Autumn/Winter Lookbook from ASOS. The British online retailer showcase a good range of knitwear and outwear along trousers and upper body pieces. The collection is not to complex or strange so it won’t alienate some buyers like some of the top fashion brands often do. This is good high street fashion that could and will be seen in the wardrobe of many in the near future.

The Amazing Spider-Man | Film Trailer

posted by on 20/07/2011

The wait is finally over, the trailer for the new Spiderman film (The Amazing Spider-Man) set to swing onto the bring screen summer next year has dropped. By the looks of the trailer, the film is a reboot of the Spiderman franchise, revisiting the the beginning of Peter Parker’s discovery of his powers after being bitten by the spider. Brand new director means brand new direction and and I feel this film has a much darker tone than all of the previous films. Watch the tailor for yourself, it’s available to view exclusively from MSN. Follow the link after the break.

Birra Moretti Brings Pop-up Gourmet Pizza Classes To London

posted by on 20/07/2011

Do you still order takeaway from Pizza Hut? I don’t and I just can’t bring myself to ordering from there any more. Not since I ate authentic Italian pizza in Rome and guess how much they cost? $5 euros for a large pizza with a drink. You just can’t compare it to the Pizza Hut one, it’s insulting! Authentic Italian beer brand Birra Moretti wants to teach you how to make these pizzas through ‘pop upgourmet pizza master classes this July. This is to celebrate il dolce far niente  – the Italian ethos of ‘the sweetness of doing nothing’ by inviting guests to gather at 3 popular London hotspots to eat, drink and enjoy a few master classes of pizza making. Marc Jacobs 2012 Spring/Summer Collection

posted by on 20/07/2011

Yesterday I brought you the 2011 Autumn/Winter Marc Jacobs collection (see here) and today as originally planned I bring you a preview of the 2012 Spring/Summer collection. In my humble opinion this collection doesn’t seem to pack the same punch as the Autumn/Winter offering. This to me is a bit meh whereas the A/W collection I really like and but for the fact that I don’t make Marc Jacobs kinda money I would not be purchasing. What do you guys think? Collection after the jump.
