Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Mortal Kombat Legacy – Episode 9 | Cyrax & Sektor

posted by on 26/07/2011

Cyrax is a BAD MAN. Kevin Tancharoen, you deserve all the praise you get for creating such a fantastic series. It’s by far the best series/film based on a game, who even remembers the old Mortal Kombat film? Yang does, he has it on DVD #loser :| Street Fighter and Tekken films were also EPIC flops, so lacklustre and such bad acting/fight scenes. This Youtube series is miles ahead of all of them with the editing, fighting, costumes, character realisations were all on point. I can’t lie though, the CGI towards the end was a little too fake looking for my liking. Hop on after for the finale.

Shoulda Would Coulda

Bluestars was the debut album from American hip-hop/r&b group Pretty Ricky. The album spawned 2 hit singles, ‘Grind With Me’ and ‘Your Body’ along with the less successful single ‘Nothing But A Number’. It is my belief that had another song been chosen for the third single release it would have been much more successful than Nothin But….. and could have potenially set up the album for a fourth and maybe fifth single. ‘Get A Little Closer’ is one of three tracks that I believe would have faired much better than the their failed third single. Check it out below

Lavenham A/W11 Collection

posted by on 26/07/2011

This here is Lavenham‘s lookbook for their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, a traditional British inspired collection featuring a string of equestrian themed looks reminiscent of of Barbour. All of these looks are on point and i love how simple the photoshoot is- I have been meaning to get myself a quilted coat for a long time, I had my eye on a Barbour one but I think I ought to start looking at Lavenham as I like the jackets in this collection. Check out each look after the cut

Banana Republic – Mad Men Capsule Collection

posted by on 26/07/2011

I’ve been meaning to watch this show for whole minute, still haven’t gotten around to it. Who’s got time for TV shows? Haha I did during university. Though saying that, I’ve known about the fashion forward (technically backwards…50s/60s) styling on Mad Men. The epitome of a professional gentlemen‘s style as some may call it – suits, ties, pocket squares, trilby hats and tie clips – everything from evening wear to cardigans. The 65 piece capsule collection has been in the making for over a year now by award-winning costume designer, Janie Bryant. I know this is going to be flying off the shelves, I hope the prices are affordable. More on the reverse.

Ben Sherman Plectrum A/W 2011

posted by on 25/07/2011

Here we have the ‘Plectrum‘ collection from Ben Sherman, mirroring a ‘British man in New York‘. The collection features a range of nicely tailored chinos, chunky knits, blazers and coats. I love this collection, the chinos stand out most for me because of the boldness: purple and dark green where they have retained their classic British look and added a bit of colour.  I like the styling of the photoshoot, the knits and coat combo in particular it looks a little bit military. Check out the full collection after the break.

Jakob Nylund – Photography

posted by on 25/07/2011

WOW I’m crazy inspired, I need to get back into my photography. Just haven’t been snapping away like I used to since LDN.365 ended, gah. Swedish art director Jakob Nylund is a lifestyle photographer, he captures what he sees on his travels and journey through life. ‘This is my photo journal where I post images of my life. Some of them are attempts of portraiture, learning the rules so I can break them, but most of them are just snapshots of things I do, the friends I have and the new friends I meet.’ – that’s exactly what it is. The photography style is beautiful, so natural, not over edited and the lens is NICE. 50mm? Love the variety of colours. I need to start a series already. Hop on after the cut for some serious inspiration.

Dope Quote #8

posted by on 25/07/2011

It’s been so long since the last dope quote post, think one every Monday would be a good way to start the new working week ey? You’ll see it more often on the new site, working on the design as I type. This quote, I got from Jaeson Ma on Twitter. Pretty sure it’s been said before but it is something a lot of people struggle with. Identity. Be yourself. No one else can be you. Now get up and go to work.

Wrangler | Mark Your Territory

posted by on 24/07/2011

Wrangler‘s long running ‘We Are Animals’ spawns a new visual asking people to mark their territory. The new gritty film explores the link between human nature and animal instinct- whilst highlighting our methods of marking our territory by use of unique arts such as graffiti and various other streets arts. I’ve expressed admiration of Wrangler’s advertising campaigns and like the rest I very much like the concept of this video but not so much the finished product. Watch the video after the break.

Suffoca – Wake Up Collectables Pack

posted by on 24/07/2011

So Boyce inbox’d my earlier this week to congratulate me on my graduation and give me a heads up on his latest collectables drop called ‘Wake Up’. For me, it’s the best collection from him yet, it looks so complete. According to this post – he’s been working on them for a while and the collection maybe small but when did quantity matter? It’s all about the quality and Suffoca always delivers that. He’s based the collection around childhood memories that each represent a story, more info in a quote on the reverse. The set features stickers, a coin holder, the prosper pack, wishbone vest, wilfred tee and from the looks of it a notebook as well. Continues after the cut.
