I love women like Rachel Bilson. It’s a shame her career hasn’t blown up since her OC days, she can act unlike many in Hollywood right about now. It’s probably down to the fact she doesn’t do nude scenes. I like that, a woman with self-respect and not wanting to sell her body for success. It’s nice to see her again on TV even if it’s just for a Magnum commercial. It’s not just any other advert when its directed by Uncle Karl Lagerfeld. More on the reverse.

The advert takes behind the scenes of a shoot featuring Rachel as the model and model Baptiste Giabiconi as the photographer. Things aren’t going to plan but she spots a runner eating Magnum and grabs one for herself (something size zero models would never do!). The photographer spots her eating the Magnum and starts snapping away. I do find it weird that Karl is endorsing Magnum, this is a man who has said in the past that he isn’t allowed to eat sugar! Found this funny quote from Rachel on working with Karl:

“I’m more interested in keeping in touch with Karl!” She made sure to give Karl’s assistant her e-mail address. Lucky for her, Karl gave her some free Chanel loot on set. “He was so funny — he was writing down something on this Chanel notepad, and he was like, ‘Do you want it?,’” Bilson said. “And I took it so fast he laughed at me, so I got a Chanel notepad from Karl. And my friend was with me — she was like, ‘Can I at least have a piece of paper from it?’ I was like, ‘Absoluely not.’”

Sigh. She’s still my favourite after all these years. My girlfriend slyly reminds me of her. #win
