Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Lady Gaga x Justin Timberlake | SNL Digital Shorts

posted by on 22/05/2011

Lady Gaga appeared on SNL last night and while we normally don’t post about her I feel like I have to in this case. As with any guest on the show she participated in a comedic skit, alongside Justin Timberlake who was hosting the finale show. Its the 90′s song skit that has prompted me to write this post because in the clip we get to see what Gaga would look like if she stopped wearing tea towels and buckets on her head. Donned in classic 90′s clothing and hairstyle its the first time that i can say i’ve looked at her and said ‘Yeah she looks really nice’ might I dare say she even exuded a glimmer of sex appeal. For her talent is undeniable but her outlandish theatrics are tiresome and less shocking as each outfit passes. This insight to a relatively normal dressed Gaga is actually more shocking to me. Anywho peep the video after the cut.

Motorola Droid X2

posted by on 22/05/2011

Motorola… I had almost forgotten these guys existed! They have teamed up with Verizon to create the markets next smartphone: Droid X2. The 4.3 inch screened handset comes equipped with 720p video capabilities, 8mp camera, dual core processor, hdmi and usb connectivity. Aesthetically it’s not a bad phone, the structure is nice and its quite slim etc though its not as engaging as the iPhone or dare I say it Blackberry- but in terms of features Its slightly bland and pales in comparison to the iPhone. However, the fact that this tiny thing has a dual core is a step up from other phones- running the software on this baby will surely be a joy ride for many geeks. Check out a full review with photos from infosync after the cut.

Battle At F-Stop Ridge Viral

Genius idea. Probably the greatest camera store advert ever, Jessops should take note. This is how it’s done.’We at The Camera Store take photography a little too seriously. Here’s proof.‘ We can certainly tell that. The video features the 32 staff of The Camera Store locked in intense camera warfare in the middle of the woods. Think Call of Duty meets SLRs. Visually in terms of editing, it could have been a lot better but the concept is ace. With over 500,000 views – it’s definitely hit for the store. Video on the reverse.

342. Brick Lane Music Hall, Silvertown | LDN.365

Brick Lane Music Hall in SILVERTOWN. Don’t ask me how that works, when I first drove past this place I noticed it and was like ‘huh?’. It looks like a Church to me. After some research, I discovered the building used to be St. Mark’s Church but after the factories were sold, people left the area and the Church was disused after. The Victorian style building was bought by Vincent Hayes who ran Brick Lane Music Hall inside the former Truman Brewery Building before the move to Silvertown. Music Hall entertainment is very rare these days. Interesting story!

Run Dem Crew – London Running Crew

Run dem crew

I haven’t mentioned it on Y&Y before, but back in February of this year I began running. I was terrible at it; I’m still not any type of pro-athlete but I’m preparing for my first 10K soon, and a couple of half-marathons towards the end of the year. Early in my running journey I was introduced to east London running collective Run Dem Crew.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Episode 6: Raiden

posted by on 21/05/2011

This series gets better and better every week, Mortal Kombat has been retold so many times in so many different ways (I say it like its a bed time story) but this time it’s far better; Kevin Tacharoen (the creator) has put an interesting spin on the story. When I was a kid, Raiden was my favourite character so I was happy to watch this one, the storyline is strong because putting him in a mental home as apposed to some strange God from ancient times appearing on Earth is far more relevant to todays audience. I can see this as a full blown series, I think it could do quite well like Heroes. Watch Raiden’s episode after the cut.

Introducing Zara‘s May lookbook sporting a mixture of spring and summer looks, the collection is also bold and colourful. I really like Zara’s  mixture of  and tailored approach to their casual clothing, it isn’t the best of quality but get what you pay for. The lookbook is typically made up of chinos and linen, personal favourites for me include the red blazer and the white shirt from the all white ensemble below. All items are available in store now to purchase and don’t forget Zara have an online store now, be sure to check it out!

Starbucks – The However You Want It Frappuccino Advert

posted by on 21/05/2011

Almost embarrassed to admit this but I’ve never had a frap before #theshame. I always go for the caramel macchiato. I’m sure you’ve all seen the Starbucks Happy Hour campaign on Facebook, well here’s the viral video to accompany it. It’s so well made! love the editing, use of sounds & colours and hand-written typography. I guess you can customize your Frappucino to suit your personal tastes, however you want it. I wSonder if they have Mango flavours. Check it out on the reverse, I promise I’ll try the frap next time!

Introducing Timothy Bloom

I don’t usually promote up and coming US artists on here but this guy deserves it. His song Til The End Of Time‘ with V. Bozeman is probably my favourite R&B song of the year – it’s just perfect, beautifully written and performed. Here’s his VEVO introduction, gives us a taste of his past, album progress and journey as an artist. I’m honestly looking forward to this guy’s music more than The Weeknd and Frank Ocean. Real R&B, bring it back Tim! More on the reverse.

341. Stoney Street | LDN.365

I photographed this yesterday along with the Day 340 shot. Walking down Clink Street in Southwark makes you realise how diverse LDN really is – so many cultures, food, architecture and so on. It’s amazing how different some parts of the city look, like some parts of London Bridge area are in tatters and others beautifully restored and modernized. It’s strange but that’s what makes LDN the best city in the whole wide world. BOOM.
