Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

All Saints Spring/Summer Menswear Review

posted by on 30/05/2011

Along with the womenswear review, we also managed to shoot the menswear from All Saints Spring/Summer collection. Yang and I got our pose on…well he did, I’m very awkward in front of the camera. I prefer to be behind it! must invest in a camera remote so I can take photographs of myself #vain. More on the reverse.

posted by on 30/05/2011

Most people who head for shopping trips down Covent Garden either end up around the central square or the seven dials district. However Floral Street plays host to some real nice shops that a lot of people overlook  – Ted Baker, Nicole Farhi, Maharishi, Mulberry, Paul Smith….need I say more? Go check it out for yourselves. More tomorrow.

Byroglyphics @ The Signal Gallery: Artists On Artists

posted by on 29/05/2011

I posted the guys work quite  while ago after I had failed to see his exhibition at the signal gallery. Well Russ is back at the Signal Gallery from 3rd until 21st June showcasing his unique mixture of contemporary graphics and fine art along with several other artists in an exhibition called ‘Artists on Artists‘. Other artists featured include: Guy Denning, Shepard Fairey, Dale Grimshaw, James Mylne and more- I haven’t heard of all of them but they all produce exquisite work. The task for this exhibition entailed the artists producing portraits of their artistic heores. It should be quite interesting because art is so expressive and individual that everyone will have a different interpretation of each piece. For example,  some may draw family members and some will produce something that to do symbolises God. So 3rd June which is next Friday, make sure you get down there. Check some of Russ’s work and event details after the jump.

Lynx: Nightlife Recall App

posted by on 29/05/2011

I’m currently #TeamBlackberry but after seeing this new app created by Lynx I might have to consider switching alliances over to the worlds best brand in my opinion, Apple. An iPhone might just find it’s way into my shopping basket on on the Carphone Warehouse website.

Vans OTW 'Pritchard' Silhouette

posted by on 29/05/2011

I feel that I have mentioned Vans quite a few times in the last week or so, it seems Vans related news is just dropping left right and center. This time news comes in the form of the Vans OTW new Pritchard silhouette. The new design is being lined up for the 2011 Fall/Winter assortment and sees the brand head in a more grown up direction. Although they are part of the fall/winter range it has been reported that they are to appear in Vans OTW retailers from June 1st which seems quite early for fall releases but who’s complaining. These are actually quite nice. Check a few of the colourways in more detail after the cut.

349. Birdcage Walk Gardens | LDN.365

I was totally trespassing when taking this photograph. Probably get arrested for posting this? Ha ha who knows. I was walking down this road…I mean ‘walk’ on the way back to Westminster from Buckingham Palace. As you can imagine the place is filled with fancy houses and this is the garden for one of them. Beautiful right? The light beaming at the plants on the table are what grabbed my attention initially. The houses in this area cost a minor £4-5 million, not much at all. A few years of saving or robbing banks and you might just be able to afford a place.

Get To Know | Raheem Bakaré

posted by on 28/05/2011

We here at Y&Y love to introduce new talent to the world and in this case i’m particularly excited because the guy i’m putting you guys on to is a person that I know. Raheem Bakaré has been circulating in the right circles such as accompanying Bluey Robinson on the  European leg of Justin Bieber‘s world tour mixing it up with the teen sensation, Willow Smith and her dad Will but yet his is still pretty much an unknown entity. His turn in the spotlight will come sooner rather than later and he is readying himself for it with a new mixtape that he is recording due sometime later this year but until then I would like you to hear a few of his tracks and get yourselves familiar with his name. This post is dedicated to @MrFatChance on twitter who sent me a nice tweet commending me on always delivering good music. Thank you.

A Day In The Life Of An Audi Driver

posted by on 28/05/2011

Dayum. This Audi film taking a look at the life of a Le Mans driver exemplifies the company’s approach to engineering, product development and creativity. The video is created using various stereoscopic film-making techniques combining hand-drawn black & white illustrations with 3D design which makes it jaw dropping. The film features one of their Le Mans drivers Allan McNish, to be honest…I have no clue who he is. The video just blew me away when one of my friends spammed my Facebook feed with links to it.

348. London Trocadero | LDN.365

posted by on 28/05/2011

If you spent your teen years in London then you would have definitely taken your girlfriend to Trocadero at some point to impress her. Don’t lie now! everyone did it. I don’t really go there for that any more – arcades aren’t my thing and I don’t gamble. Trocadero is an entertainment complex with a cinema, arcade, bowling alley, bumper cars and gambling machines. They announced plans last year to turn the top level into a pod hotel and the basement has been converted into a bboy arena. Dancers go check it out! I was there to do a shoot for a brand, you’ll see the images soon.

The Weeknd | Unreleased Tracks

posted by on 28/05/2011

I haven’t been able to post properly over last couple of days, which has meant I haven’t been able to update y’all with the latest music that i’ve been encountering. During this brief moment of internet access I have decided to write a few posts specifically music related. This first post is for all you Weeknd lovers. The Weeknd caused a stir in the music industry when they released their House of Balloons set with the song What You Need becoming a firm favourite of mine but I think I told you this before. Anywho I stumbled on a few unreleased tracks from the Canadian based musicians including a track believed to be featuring fellow Canadian star Drake, however I personally don’t believe it is Drake. Give the tracks a listen after the cut.
