Blechman launches the lookbook for his Autumn/winter 2011 collection titled “Into The Light: Survival 2012″, the military inspired collection presents a range of technical features which derive from the 2012 survival forces. Features such as: high-tech webbing and the use of swiss riri waterproof zips, Schoeller cloth with anti-abrasion Kevlar fibres and other swiss materials illustrate the technological advances of this collection, a collection that focuses on protection and function within an urban environment. Why is the collection all black!? I accept that it’s military inspired but at least chuck in some khaki some beige like they usually do. I’m all up for dressing head to toe in black on certain days but a whole collection is a bit much in this day and age as its just too impractical- to be honest I much preferred their SS11 collection. But with that out of the way, I like the collection- I think it’s very daring and it’s one that they could be very creative with in terms of fashion shows. Highlight for me includes the “Diamond Quilting Aviator Tour Jacket” which I like because of the feint detailing in the sleeves and the cut in general. Other highlights (that are not yet available on the website) are, the short Parka Jacket and the long hooded jacket with the zip on the sleeve. I’ll leave you with photos from the collection, skeletons are cool no?
