Take it away Isadora
I’ve always had moments when I wonder what somebody else in the world is doing at the same moment I’m running late for an event. Kind of like the whole, where were you when 9/11 happened? I never thought anybody else was thinking the same thing…that is until recently. Life in a day is the latest epic documentary collaboration directed by Kevin Macdonald and produced by Ridley Scott’s, Scott Free Productions, along with major contribution from YouTube.

The film captures the idea of taking one day in our life and asking people all over the world to share their day all while using the events “as a time capsule to show future generations what it was like to live on the 24th July 2010.” Expanding over several countries, using several formats (If you’re a technical person that would equal a nightmare!), and hiring university students from around London to view submissions, the film manages to take you on a pleasant emotional roller coaster that you won’t regret going on.
I‘m not usually a fan of documentaries, but somehow I manage to see them… a lot. Of the latest documentaries I’ve seen this one has won a place in my heart along with the other recent greats, like The Cove and Catfish. They’re definitely worth a watch should you have the time and I highly recommend watching Life in a day. The film will be released on the 17th June and is rated 12A due to some scenes that are…well, you’d have to watch it.
