Choose your music. Choose your dance. Make your silent disco difference! Free To Dance is a charity event set up to raise awareness of the situation in Burma. The event will see thousands of people embark on a 4 hour mini dance marathon around London with Ben Hammond: a teacher who founded the cause- so its pretty much like running a marathon only you’ll be dancing instead. Ben aims to record a 131,000 people dancing in October this year to break the world record, if you would like to get involved in this great cause, read more after the cut.

23 May – 30 September 2011. My biggest step towards the 131-hour world record is the Funkathon – getting 131,000 people from all walks of life dancing free in just 131 days. I’ll be dancing round London & the South-East visiting everyone from ballerinas & breakers to bankers, builders & brain surgeons in the biggest Free to Dance road trip so far, all with the aim of spreading the Free to Dance word and recruiting thousands of people to dance with me during the world record. I’m looking for dance groups/classes/schools/companies to teach me to dance, schools/colleges/universities to book my Free to Dance show, and businesses/charities/groups to invite me along for a talk and a fun-filled do-something-different-for-a-change dance. It’s a great big Free to Dance free-for-all, and I’d love to visit YOU!
