Nothing like waking up after a good night’s sleep and the gorgeous morning sun kissing your skin through your window. Sigh. What makes it an even better morning is waking up to all the media news! First major topic that’s been blasting the headlines early this morning is the recent trailer release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 or as the French would say it deux! Now I must say I’m not particularly a fan of the Harry Potter movie series, mostly because I feel the series started going downhill after the third movie.
However, with the latest trailer I do feel like I’ve missed out recently on some pretty good cinema and would definitely go out to watch the second part on the big screen.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a 2010/2011 two-part epic fantasy film directed by David Yates, written by Steve Kloves and based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. The film is produced by Rowling along with David Heyman and David Barron. The two parts form the seventh and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, with the story following Harry Potter on a quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort’s secret to immortality – the Horcruxes. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe in his final performance as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry’s best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The film also features Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman.
Now, for other news relating to one of the Harry Potter lead actors. We all know that Emma Watson previously discussed her desire to take a break from university life and finish her commitments with the Harry Potter series, along with other acting commitments. So it’s really no surprise when we see her on the red carpet on the 7th July (or purple carpet whatever the PR company decides the carpet colour should be. I think the carpet should be black with sparkles; very thinning. I digress).
Recently, Watson has been on the cover of Vogue and has become the new face of LANCOME. To add to her list of projects, we will now see Watson (I love writing her last name, reminds me of Sherlock Homles) as an “introvert freshman finding her way” through high school in, Summit Entertainment’s latest collaboration with Mr. Hudd productions, The Perks of Being a Wall Flower.
The Perks of Being a Wall Flower will be Watson’s first lead role outside of the Harry Potter series, which is sort of ironic seeing how she will be leaving one school to go to another. The film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled for release in [I assume summer] 2012.
