Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Aaron Hobson's Cinematic Photography

posted by on 27/03/2011

This is intense photography, each image is jam packed with suspense. Make sure you observe every detail of the images, you may miss something hidden in the corner. It’s like a Sherlock Holmes mystery, you have to uncover the story within these images but then after you do, you want to jump into them and save them. Each of these shots look like stills from a feature length movie, absolutely adore the darkness and wide angle effect on them. Aaron Hobon’s photographs play on human emotions of fear, sex, abadonment, curiosity & loneliness. Trust, I just discovered the story of the photograph with the out of focus dude sitting the middle of the shot, see if you can too on the reverse.

286. Westminster Bridge Street Lamp | LDN.365

posted by on 27/03/2011

Another one from my bus journey to Elephant & Castle. This one is blurry if you look closely, the focus is so far off. I snapped as the bus was driving over the bridge hence why, you can tell the focus is on the buildings you see in the distance. Strange. I do like the silhouette of the street lamps (lights? same ish).  The design of it screams out London for me, so traditional and ornate. I really hope we don’t get rid of them for some shiny aluminium ones.

It's In Your Hands – World Water Day Promo Video

posted by on 26/03/2011

Ok I lied about only posting once tonight. Me not posting more than once is as rare as Jordan not appearing in the headlines of a tabloid paper. I really had no clue that the 22nd March was World Water Day and this short video filmed and directed by Andrew Hinton of Pilgrim Films was used to promote it. It’s In Your Hands is a beautiful promo video, it’s been exceptionally well shot and the sound works so well. Definitely gets the message across, simple yet powerful stuff. We take water amongst other things for granted, video on the reverse.

285. Call The Popo Ho! | LDN.365

I’m majorly sorry for the lack of updates on the website. This is going to be my only post of the day as I’m still mac-less and this Windows PC is dying slowly.  Snapped this on the 453 bus en route to University from Piccadilly. Spring is officially here and lack of air conditioning on the underground means I’ll be taking buses as much as possible from now. I have my first ever driving lesson tomorrow, finally getting around to it. Also the title of this post is in reference to this video.

Wrangler – 'Stunt' Campaign Video

posted by on 25/03/2011

Yang posted the latest Wrangler campaign posters here a few weeks back. Now the video for the campaign has surfaced and just like the posters, it certainly will WOW you. The campaign is all about ‘stunts’. It’s full of stunt men and women who are natural daredevils and willing to do almost anything leap frogging off through windows to being lit up. Madness I say but hats off to these people, the only time I jump out of window is if theres a real fire in my bedroom. Even then I’d probably throw my mattress through the window first, a cushioned landing for me thanks. Check out the video on the reverse.

284. Dover Street Market | LDN.365

posted by on 25/03/2011

I had an early start to my day yesterday as I had to head down to Dover Street Market to shoot a few of the new menswear collections and new installation for another website. You will see the images soon, I did take a lot in the space of 30 minutes. The only problem is that Lightroom on Windows isn’t the best, it takes way too long to render each change and the exporting is a whole different story. I especially like the reflection in this image, doesn’t the guy remind you of the dude in CSI?

I know i’ve already posted a music video today but I feel the need to post this as i have played this song about 6 times today and have grown to like it a little bit more each time it has played. This week is turning out to be rather eventful for Chris Brown with the release of his 4th studio album F.A.M.E and the media stories surrounding his recent outburst after his Good Morning America appearance. On top of all that has been going on he and his team have not forgotten about his fans and have released the visuals to his new song ‘Beautiful People’. Check it out when you read on and be sure to read our album review of F.A.M.E (see here)

The Rise Of Rick Genest

posted by on 24/03/2011

Having just shown you the Mugler 2011 Fall/Winter campaign featuring Rick Genest I think its only appropriate to draw your attention to an interview with the brand’s creative director Nicola Formichetti that I read on the HintMag website a few days ago. He recalls his first encounters with Rick and what he had to do to get him to model in the Mugler catwalk show. At this point I think its important to point out that before this creative director got in contact, Rick was sleeping on the street due to homlessness and now he is the face of Mugler and was the main attraction in Lady Gaga‘s lastest music video for ‘Born This Way‘. This is testament to the fact that good time can happen. Please read as its quite moving, sort of.
