Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Gah. I’m slacking big time with my work, I’d like to blame the lack of Mac in my life for my slow work rate but really I could force myself to do more work on here. I love working under pressure but writing 16000 words over night is not possible so it’s now or never. Yang’s already on it, he’s been in the 24/7 Library at UEL. I should join him. Need my MacBook Prowith me there though, I don’t want people to see me shouting at a Windows PC. #gotissues

New Track | Tyson – Out Of My Mind

posted by on 28/03/2011

I woke up this morning tired as anything walking around as if I starred in Michael Jackson‘s Thriller as one of the zombies but then I decided to play  track that has been sitting in my inbox for quite some time now and it energised me, even if for a little while. ‘Out Of My Mind’ is certainly a throwback to the days before I was born, back when those rythemic 80′s funk anthems were the equivelient of the euro dance enthused songs of today. The song comes from a guy who goes by the name of Tyson, at present little is known about the man behind the song but when I get more info i’ll be sure to pass it on to you all but for now give the song a listen.

Mr. Bathing Ape Summer 2011 Lookbook

posted by on 28/03/2011

Loyal readers will know by now that I am certainly not BAPE’s number 1 fan.  This new lookbook from A Bathing Ape gives us a look at some of the smarter/refined pieces from their grown up brand, Mr. Bathing Ape. To be honest, I’m not really feeling half the collection, 3 looks pictured on the left (image above) I could work with. The other 3 are hideous, I don’t know if it’s the photography or the choice of models, something just doesn’t work about them. I can imagine the price tags on these as well, they don’t look like suits that should be worth more than £200 at max. More on the reverse.

Remember Little Miss Jocelyn?

posted by on 28/03/2011

I keep seeing things that remind me of this show everywhere especially on my facebook feed. I remember when it first aired on TV everybody was talking about it, a brilliant show it was! From what I can remember it just vanished form my TV screen, but I suppose like most comedy sketches it received too much exposure and then burnt out…quickly. I still love this show and thanks to the wonders of youtube, we can still watch it! I would say we should start a petition to bring it back but that might be little much…I’ve added a few clips below of the show- im sure our non-uk readers will love it!

London's Parks

posted by on 28/03/2011

So it’s officially spring time in the UK! As the weather slowly but surely gets warmer, people from in and around London will be lazing days away at one of many of the cities parks. There’s the obvious Hyde Park, three hundred and fifty acres of green slap bang in the middle of town. I’ll go there should I find myself in central and taking a boat out onto Serpentine Lake is still something I’ve yet to do.

A Paintbrush For The iPad

posted by on 28/03/2011

I know the iPad is cool but I didn’t know this it was this cool, I would like one immediately as it’s perfect output for me to enhance my non existent sketching skills. Here we have a video of the new ‘Nomad Brush‘ in action, a tool designed to allow it’s users to draw, sketch and paint on the iPad with ease (if they’re good at it obviously). Watching the video it really does look like you can create some amazing images with it, and they’re only $24 and you can get there here…they deliver to the UK! Watch the video after the cut.

287. Big Ben Bus | LDN.365

A photograph of Big Ben from inside a bus. I promise you tomorrow’s photograph won’t be taken from a bus! I just happen to spend a lot of my time on the bus this past week. With university coming to a close in just over a month and a bit, I really don’t have much time to travel around and take photographs of spots that I haven’t been to in London. It’s sad and I do apologise but life takes over.

John Moore on 'Epic' Libya Battles | Arab World Revolutions

posted by on 27/03/2011

I love the art of journalism, but I always wondered how journalists could travel to other countries to report literally from the firing line! From what I’ve seen it takes alot of courage and passion for the job because photographer John Moore has done it plenty times. I came across this guys work today and I have got to say, it tells the story like no other > news.  John put together a powerful presentation if you like, depicting the grueling events surrounding the Middle East & North Africa and while his level of photography is amazing I found a lot of these images quite heartbreaking, I have to say I’ve never seen a battle field so close up such as this. His voice in the background describing his epic journey is quite captivating a real shock too for people who don’t know the real goings on over there! It just goes to prove that we’re never getting the coverage that we should, so thank you to John Moore for putting this together. Peep some quality photo journalism after the cut.

Art Of Trench – Out There Magazine Editorial

posted by on 27/03/2011

Love trench coats and photography with dope light texture fused post processing. I’ve spoken about my love for the fine trenchcoat silhouettes many times in the past, especially that of Burberry’s ones. The people over at Out There Magazine share the same love for the classic item of clothing and have put together 3 looks featuring the best three trenchcoats out there this season. I don’t quite agree with the first one on the reverse but the styling is on point. Shout out to PYNK London, Sami Jones & Mario Mendez who have done a fine job with the photography side of things.

Canine Football Pitch Invader

posted by on 27/03/2011

Now this post should definitely fit into the crazy shiz section. Last week I was away in Turkey with my team New Jersey Sky Blue for pre season. In the second half of the championship game against the Swedish champions, Malmo, we were putting pressure on them and pushing for an equalizing goal. Our right back crosses a great ball into the box and then annoyingly the game had to be stopped because a dog runs onto the pitch!! Crazy huh
