Lacoste L!ve Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

posted by on 29/03/2011

Ok so this is quite a turn around for Lacoste…their latest campaign “Lacoste L!ve”sees the brand launch a new look that is stylish contemporary and exuberant. I love the new collection, I think it’s a great move for Lacoste to target a more youthful audience. Sticking with the traditional Lacoste values such as: simple polos, slim fit trousers and knitwear for a more preppy look and then teaming it up with a more casual vintage inspired line. Take a look at the lookbook after the cut by heading to the website to for the new Lacoste experience.

Wifi Coming For 120 Tube Stations By 2012

posted by on 29/03/2011

I’m not sure about this yet. We’re all internet addicts, I love my social media and blogging (nahhh!) so internet on the underground would be welcomed. However I use my time on the underground to read, if I get emails/tweets/skype then I won’t be doing the former anymore. Annabel wrote a very interesting post on the prospect of mobile phone signal on the underground here, have a read.  TFL have put a provisional plan for wifi at 120 Tube Stations by June 2012, there are so many pro’s and con’s to this decision. I’m happy the way it is now to be honest, just add air conditioning and spend some money on the reliability of the service than adding internet. More on reverse.

Johnny Love 2011 Autumn/Winter Lookbook

posted by on 29/03/2011

As you all know a few of us here at Y&Y are currently snowed under with a load of university work which is one reason why I have been late with posting a few items. Case in point the 2011 Fall/Winter collection from fashion brand Johnny Love. Jackets/coats seem to be a key feature of the collection and are most definitely the focus of the collection. This lookbook has been styled in a way that really showcases all of the garments in a good way and is probably one of the best if I’ve seen for quite some time. Good Job.

Introducing Marques Toliver

posted by on 29/03/2011

There are fewer things I like more than listening to a real music artist that has talent in abundance. I was introduced to an American artist called Marques Toliver by a PR friend a few weeks ago. I was meant to post about him the same day that I first became aware of him, however I don’t know if it was my selfishness of wanting to keep his music to myself a while longer until he’s thrust into the spotlight or the stress over 3 assignments and one dissertation to start and finish in just over a month. Regardless of the reason I now want to introduce you to the amazing Marques Toliver.

Photography | Back To The Future

posted by on 29/03/2011

Buenos Aires born photographer Irina Werning started a project called ‘Back To The Future’ which involves her reconstructing photos of the past. She takes reference from an old photo and recreates the scene with the same subject and setting to produce an updated version of the photo. You can see more examples of her work after the cut. Will & Kate: The Movie

posted by on 29/03/2011

The story of Will and Kate’s fairy-tale romance has not only been made into a film but will be released in the UK on the 25th April thanks to Revolver Entertainment. I had heard rumours that this film was being made and since then I’ve been scouring the net for more info. When I found out that it was only going to be released in the US I have to admit I did feel a little hard done by. In fact, I’m sure I went on a full on rant to my friends, why should the American fans get all the juice?! I think they must have heard me because here we are on the verge of its release.

Months ago back when my Music News Monday series was called Music News Weekly I introduced you all to a new boyband rnb group called Mindless Behavior. Today I bring you an updated version of their debut single My Girl, the new version now features Tyga, Lil Twist and Ciara. Although the new incarnation of the song doesn’t actually feature much of the boys singing t’s still a pretty solid effort.
