Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

posted by on 18/02/2011

As soon as I hand the new Beth Ditto track ‘I Wrote The Book’ I became instantly intrigued by the news of a new EP that she had been working on. The 4 track EP titled De Construction is her first venture away from her band Gossip. Although not due for a full international release until March 7th I have managed to get my hands on a copy. Check what I have to say about the selection of songs when you read on.

Questlove x Nike Dunk Hi Pack

posted by on 18/02/2011

It’s been a long while since you’ve sneakers on here, I don’t think any of us have seen anything on market worth talking about and to be honest I don’t even remember the last time I wore trainers….apart from to the gym. I came across these and I liked them, I like them mainly because of the big strap over the laces. They come in red and an alternate version in yellow. I prefer the red in terms of design, plus the yellow is over bright. Check out some photos here.

Pain. Passion. Poetry. – Writings on a Wall

posted by on 18/02/2011

With all the craziness that has been going on in my life, I began to ask myself why I wrote.  Not only that, but, who was I writing for?  Anyone who knows me would know one of my life goals is to publish a book – both poetry and an actual novel – but I never thought I’d question my writing; and I definitely never thought I’d ever question myself.

249. I Goat, Spitalfields Sculpture Prize | LDN.365

posted by on 18/02/2011

Spotted this goat sculpture randomly placed just outside Spitalfields Market area a few weeks back. It’s an award winning piece by sculptor Kenny Hunter and its meant to stand as a symbol for the successive waves of migrants that have historically found sanctuary in Spitafields. The crates on which the goat is perched on reference the market. Do YOU see it?

Sony Bloggie™ Inspiration

posted by on 18/02/2011

Whenever people ask me what camera I use for my photography, I always tell them the 550d and also remind them it’s not about the camera you use, it’s all how you use your tools. I think I have found my own style of photography in the past year and I think it’s key everyone tries to do their own thing with what they have. Sony Bloggie is probably the best value HD video recorder out there at the moment, it’s a hell of a lot better than the FlipCams. I know you won’t have the fancy manual focus like on my camera on there but this video just showcases all these different techniques one can use with a bloggie. Some of the effects are dope! I doubt I would be able to do them on my Canon. Watch the video after the cut, go on. Inspire yourself and check out the tutorials here.

Unofficial PlayStation 3 "Kids" Ad

posted by on 18/02/2011

So it’s 3am and after a hard day of coding I’m playing Uncharted: 2 Multiplayer so whilst waiting for the game to start I check my twitter… I find a random Youtube video… and what are the coincidences that; that video would be related to what I was doing at that very moment! From a relatively unknown team of assistant editor’s this is a Sony PS3 spec showing kids escaping the horrible oppression of their everyday lives with some game-inspired moves,  It reminds us why we first started playing. Take a look after the cut.

248. Queen's House Gate | LDN.365

posted by on 17/02/2011

I’m back. Essays done for now. 16,000 words till freedom. Anyway enough of the short and sweet sentences, this is another photograph from my Greenwich trip that I have been holding back. I haven’t actually taken any photographs in a week or so, it feels weird but I really wouldn’t have anything other than textbooks and Microsoft Word to capture in the past week. This is probably the most late 365s in a while. The building behind the gates = click here .

Best Vocal Performance Of The Year Thus Far

posted by on 17/02/2011

I know i’m a little late posting this but due to reasons already stated this week we all have been slow with the updates. I watched this back yesterday and it sent chills down my spine. I don’t think I have ever watched a performance where the artist is able to be so powerful and stand whilst standing in one place just singing. The whole room was captivated by her voice which is so strong and the song so beautiful that a full stage production would have taken away rather than adding to the performance. The performance i’m talking about is AdeleSomeone Like You performed at the Brit Awards. She was so engrossed in the performance that she even made herself cry, AMAZING!. Check it out after the cut.
