Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Labrinth – 1 Man 4 Musical Tshirts

posted by on 22/01/2011

I’ve kinda overlooked this guy’s talent till the past week. I don’t know why because he’s the genius behind Tinie’s first two UK number 1 singles, without his hooks and infectious beat Tinie would still be rapping about tears falling down his face. I am pretty sure this is a fake video, no such thing as musical t-shirts?! it’s dope though, the beat he creates in a minute is fresh. My favourite part of the video has to be the glasses he has on, I must acquire a pair. I have sneaky suspicion that they are a Louis Vuitton pair. If that’s the case, I might have to jump him if I ever see him on the streets of East London #nojoketing. Video on the reverse.

UPDATE: They are real tees: buy here.

Space Hoppers In Venice By Shelly Jones & Mark Anstice

posted by on 22/01/2011

By: Bayougirl

It’s official I am now addicted to Vimeo! From when I clicked play on this video I was already wide eyed by the graphics and the depth of the colours. It’s called Space Hoppers in Venice and it was created by third year BA Visual Effects & Motion Design students & Cinematographer Shelly  Jones & Mark Anstice. Not only is this very well made but it is pretty amusing too, really incredible work- my inner geek really appreciates the final scene which i’m sure you’ll agree is reminiscent of Dragonball Z. P.S Venice is beautiful. Find out more on Shelly Jones after the cut.

Kanye West + Comics = ?

posted by on 22/01/2011

I know this is geeky as hell but I find it quite hilarious and clever. As well already know, Kanye‘s ego and twitter make for some hilarious tweets which have been turned into comics. Well this time someone has way too much time and has decided to place Ye’s lyrics into Marvel/DC comic scenes. It’s a really simple idea that has been executed well in my opinion. I’ve added a few of my favourites after the cut. Peep the rest here.

222. New Burlington Place | LDN.365

posted by on 22/01/2011

Spotted this on a random walk from Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus. After some Googling I have found out this ‘prism‘ installation called the New Burlington Flare is the work of Michael Bleyenberg. It features holographic optical elements that have been embedded between glass and mirrors so as a result of light refraction, it creates a colour play that has been specially designed for the piece. More 365 tomorrow.

5 Up and Coming UK Male Artists

posted by on 22/01/2011

I was listening to Gemma’s show on BBC Radio 1Xtra yesterday, and while listening through the show there was one song that grabbed my attention straight away and it was by an artist I had never come across thus far. I had to search for the song as I only heard the tracks title.  The song is called ‘Look What I’ve Done’. I tried a YouTube search but that was fruitless, so I had to look back at track listing from Gemma’s past shows. Maverick Sabre, I had found him.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Esquire Fashion Show

posted by on 21/01/2011

A very well put together fashion show in a great location. The collection features quilted vests, shearling-lined coats and the brands infamous puff jackets made from premium materials spanning leather, tartan, tweed (in the season) and wool. What an unusual scenario to set up a fashion show but I think it looks amazing, the theme of the show the season and the collection all draw from the same inspiration. The show took place in fashion capital Milan and was all pieces were designed by Thom Browne, enjoy.

Oprah's Master Class – Maya Angelou

posted by on 21/01/2011

This show is simply amazing and this is by far my favourite episode so far. If I’m honest, I didn’t know much about Maya Angelou till watching this Master Class episode. I just assumed she was a writer – she’s more than just that. She’s a human being with far more wisdom than many of us can imagine. She opens up with some traumatic events of her youth she found coverage to overcome all of them. She speaks with beautiful eloquence, her words have left me feeling invigorated and inspired to move forward with my own life. More on the flipside.

Free Wifi Hotspots London App

posted by on 21/01/2011

I wish I stumbled across this iPhone app before today, it would have been handing on many occasions – mostly during meetings when I end up needing to show the client stuff on the internet. This should be handy for everyone students, tourists, workers and all alike, it’s only £1.19. One thing though, I feel it needs some updating. I know of Wifi spots that aren’t featured on this app, alas I’m not going to share them. The last one I shared I don’t go to anymore as the place is way too packed! More imagery on the flipside.

Flashback Friday – Jagged Edge

posted by on 21/01/2011

If you ask R&B fans to list their top 10 list of R&B acts from the 90′s, Jagged Edge would make the list everytime. I grew up listening to JE in Highschool, you know the years with the excited teen relationships haha. I don’t really know what happened to the male R&B groups in the past decade though, they all just mysteriously vanished from the scene. Boyz II Men, Silk, 112, JE, Dru Hill and so on, most of them have split up and go on club tours here in the UK at places like Sound and IndigO2. Tut. However Jagged Edge are back together and set to release a new album in 2011. I hope they find their sound again because the last album was whacktastic. After the cut for some of my favourites.

Jake Davis – Motion Man Documentary

posted by on 21/01/2011

‘You don’t want your bio to read like everyone elses so you’re constantly trying to separate yourself from everyone in the past’. Hypebeast.tv flip reverse the camera on the man behind the lens, Jake Davis. We get to see Jake at work, his reasons for starting the Test Shots series and what it’s like working with some of the biggest names in the business like Supreme and Drake. It’s pretty inspiring. View it on the reverse.
