Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

The Award Tour – Lost In The Night

posted by on 24/01/2011

I don’t know why it has taken me so long to watch this clip. I finally bothered to watching the whole videowhen Madbury/The Award Tour founder Philip T Anannd reposted this on his twitter. It inspired my instantly. This extremely dope documentary/behind-the-scenes prequel to the The Award Tour ‘Friends & Family lookbook was shot, edited and directed by Vinny Picone. It’s mind blowing – the use of Kanye’s Lost In The World is brilliant, the blacked out scenes when the beat builds up – brilliant, I’ll run out of superlatives if I continue describing this video. It’s really well done and the whole natural chilled out life feel to it works well. I can’t wait to film random videos with my new lens #5monthstillfreedom. Video on the reverse.

Balmain | 2011 Fall/Winter Collection

posted by on 24/01/2011

Now this is a collection I can rock with. Maybe not in the same way it has been styled in these set of pictures but seperate the garments and I think theres some magic going on. What collection am I talking about? The Balmain assortment of menswear taken from thier 2011 Fall/Winter collection. The collection actually reminds me of a Zara Mens casual Lookbook. In any event, check it out on the flipside.

Photographs of Old School London

posted by on 24/01/2011

These photographs are beautiful, whoever took them back then managed to capture the nitty grittyness of LDN back then. Seeing Vivian Maeier‘s street photography of Old NYC intrigued me to Google ‘Old London‘ which led me to this scanned collection on Spitalfields Life. I really wonder why the country allowed LDNers to change the city so much, the traditional architecture pictured above is beyond dope. You don’t see much of this Victorian era architecture around the city anymore, it’s turned into a concrete jungle. More and more skyscrapers are being built, just peep yesterday’s 365. More after the cut.

I’ve spent most of the past 700 days or so here. This chapter of my life will be complete by June if all goes to plan, I just need to put my head down and make sure I get my degree. It’s now or never *cue final countdown music.* If you’ve been to LCC before then you know one half is nice and the other is grimey. The design courses are all in the nicer part of the school and the marketing & advertising courses in the awful tower that looks like it’s going to fall apart any second now. Ah well, I’ll be in the library in 10 hours time *sigh* better get to bed then.

2011 Fall/Winter Collection From Walter Van Beirendonck

posted by on 23/01/2011

For the longest time we in the ethnic minority have been crying out to see more black and ethnic faces grace the front pages of magazines and appear in catwalk shows and I have been one of those people. I’m not all afro centric or anything but I would be nice however when we say we want more black faces on the catwalk that does not mean we want to see them wearing fuckery such as some of the pieces in this next collection you are about to see. Peep the new 2011 Fall/Winter collection from Walter Van Beirendonck to fully understand what I am talking about.

Call The Po Po Hoe

posted by on 23/01/2011

Yesterday morning I woke up made myself a cup of green tea and sat down with the family before they all were due to head out. Within half hour of me being up and just as the family were leaving a knock at the door occurs. KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! My mum proceeds to open the door only to find the police standing at the door asking for a Mr Daniel Bailey (me). I respond “yes that’s me”….. blah blah blah basically what they had come to do was arrest me and take me down to the station. If you wanna know why then read on.

BAPE – Pop-Up Pirate Store Brick Lane

posted by on 23/01/2011

Highly acclaimed Japanese brand Bathing Ape is set to open their first ever Europe pop-up store on East London’s Brick Lane next week. This new shop gives fans of the brand a chance to buy limited edition ‘Pirate‘ themed apparel, graphically it’s the usual from BAPE. Nothing special for the extortionate prices you will be paying but that’s BAPE for you. All the stans will queue up to purchase some of these items. Customers can also purchase Pirate Booty Bags, of which the contents are not known until purchased but are they guarantee us they will be covetable items. I’m guessing they go for around £200 each as well. More details on the reverse.

223. Shard London Bridge | LDN.365

posted by on 23/01/2011

I’m sure all of you have noticed this skyscraper at some point and wondered what it was. It looks like something out of a Marvel movie with it’s irregular triangle shape that represents a glass ‘shard‘. Shard London Bridge was by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano; once complete in 2012 the remarkable structure will be the tallest building in the European Union and the 45th tallest building in the world. The tower will stand 1,017 ft (310 m) tall, with 72 floors and the viewing gallery & open-air observation deck will be on the 72nd floor (top!). Just imagine the views and photographs I could take from there. Crikey.
