Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Style Focus: Chuck Bass

posted by on 26/01/2011

Most of you guys probably haven’t heard of Chuck Bass and those of you who have, have chosen to ignore him because he’s off the US sitcom ‘Gossip Girl‘. The names off putting I know, it’s definitely not a show that just targets females, if you’ve watched a few episodes you’ll realise this. I’ve been watching it somewhat religiously for the past few years, mainly due to the styling. Continues on the reverse.

The Cool Kids Club: Vintage Store

posted by on 26/01/2011

Now I know what you’re thinking what are The Cool Kids doing launching a store when they should be releasing When Fish Ride Bicycles, well I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the name but The Cool Kids Club has nothing to do with hip-hop group. The Cool Kids Club is a brand new venture from the same people who brought some slick visuals recently. And this new venture helps you join The Cool Kids Club by offering the chance to get your hands on some exclusive vintage clothing. Check out some of the launch products after the jump.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda

posted by on 26/01/2011

I thought that I’d change it up a little bit with this post series, so instead of selecting a few songs that I feel should have been released from past albums I now will only select one song for each post. No longer will you know which artist has sung the song before you’ve heard it. This will allow you all to listen to the track without any preconceived opinions. You may guess the singer from listening to their voice but I won’t be telling y’all who it is unless you ask me directly. I may decide to throw in a few clues as to who the singer is just to make it a bit more interesting and fun. This week I’m gonna let you know that the singer is female. The song was scheduled for release but was scrapped as the singer had a new album on the way and promo for the song would overlap with promo for the new album. The song is taken from the album Just Like You…….. listen to the song after the jump.

Y-3 Menswear Autumn/Winter 2011-2012

posted by on 26/01/2011

It’s been a decade since Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto first collaborated with sportswear giant adidas. One year later, Y-3 was born. Last week, he presented a special short documentary This Is My Dream celebrating 10 years of collaboration. They also unveiled the new collection which takes inspiration from nature to the concept of escapism; includes blazers, trench coats, parkas and high boots all in the military tones of green. Accessories include printed sneakers, white Chelsea ankle boots and wool trapper hats. Personally I wouldn’t rock a lot of this collection, it’s just too avant-garde. Though the pieces previewed above are quite nice, peep the rest after the cut.

226. Busaba Eathai | LDN.365

posted by on 26/01/2011

Finally got around to making a visit to one of DJB‘s favourite restaurants, Busaba Eathai. He always told me to review this place so we finally decided to check out the joint during a lil Y&Y meeting the other night. However their management never got back to me and technically you’re not allowed to take photographs inside the restaurant. I took this one on the sly, I don’t see the problem. How else are folks meant to review this place? Anyway, see if you can spot Yang. A bit like ‘Where’s Wally?’

Pronounced Love | Handmade Stickers

posted by on 25/01/2011

Totally random post in terms of content. I don’t think I’ve ever posted stickers before but I hold this brand close to my heart – their message and ethos = beautiful. The logo is my favourite logotype over, I LOVE it. Love is what they are all about and love is key to life. We as humans lack compassion, we need to learn to love one another; no matter skin colour, religion or background. At the end of the day God created us all the same, so that gives only him the right to judge us!? Make love not war, I’m not a hippy or a preacher haha. I’m just human being. Back to the post, Pronounced Love will be dropping dope handmade stickers featuring their exquisite logo on February the 1st. More after the cut.

Get Your Converse Stuff Inked

posted by on 25/01/2011

Bought my first pair of converses at the start of university and have pretty much lived in them ever since! For me they’re a necessity as the most reliable mode of transport around London is your own two feet! If you use the tube you have to go down escalators only to then have to go up stairs. I avoid buses at all costs but sometimes there is no other option and I’ll end up chasing after one like a lunatic. So you definitely need a comfortable and reliable pair of shoes that can take a beating and converses are an affordable fail-safe!

I Love Me A Bit Of Pink

posted by on 25/01/2011

I was sitting at home yesterday thinking that I should start some uni work early for once in my life but got distracted (as usual) by the sounds of Pink. I have long been an admirer of the singer but never released how much I liked her songs until now. Almost every song that she has released to date I can honestly say that I enjoy but it begs the questions how and why? How is it that I like her early r&b influenced released but yet still like the edgy rockier sound that she now exudes? And why do I like her so much?

Jessie J – Who You Are | Album Tracklist + Cover

posted by on 25/01/2011

Woii. Jessie J‘s album is almost here, just over 2 months to go till it’s unleashed. I for one cannot wait, I’ve been a fan of hers for a while now and I look forward to hearing all the studio versions of all the live rips in my iTunes library. I wonder what her version of Chris Brown‘s ‘I Need This’ sounds like, it’s one of my favourites off his Graffiti album. Great photograph and styling definitely matches up to her personality. It’s all very Mystic Meg haha. One thing I don’t like is the typography for ‘Who You Are‘, it’s not that visible. Sorry I’m a picky designer. Peep the complete tracklist on the flipside.

225. Kilburn Park Station | LDN.365

posted by on 25/01/2011

Thanks to TFL closures and fails on weekends I had to changeover 3 times and take the bus before reaching my destination in Kilburn from East Ham. However I wasn’t complaining, it gave me a chance to explore parts of LDN that I have never been to before. The station itself stood out for me, surrounded by blocks of council flats; this well maintained building with old school tiling has classy look to it.
