Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Kanye West x Jay-Z – H.A.M. | First Single Off Watch The Throne

posted by on 11/01/2011

Kanye West and Jay-Z collaborative project ‘Watch The Throne‘ is COMING! The first single from the project was leaked online a few hours ago via it’s Facebook fan page. Ya’ll can listen to the song ‘H.A.M‘ after the cut, its pure rap. Kanye seems angry and you know angry Mr.West always sounds good – utilizing the overly emo side of him to churn out the rap that everyone can bop their head to. However Jay-Z is the master, Ye’s big brother and I personally feel he owns him on this beat. I mean lyrically. After reading Decoded I have come to my senses that Jay lyrics usually have a double meaning. More after the cut.

I’m like, “Really, half a billi? Nigga, really you got baby money
Keep it real wit’ niggas, niggas ain’t got my lady money

One thing I noticed was a subliminal shot at Baby. Weezy F Baby, his so called ‘father’ Birdman aka Baby. Half billi is about his own net worth, the line after that has a double meaning – 1. About everyone else not being on his level in terms of money 2. A shot at Cash Money’s Baby. The last line adds insult to injury, you ain’t got my lady money. Who’s Jay’s Lady? that’s right Beyonce Carter-Knowles. The best performer on this planet right now. One thing for sure, these 2 are owning the rap game. 2010 was Kanye’s. In 2011, a new HOV album should be dropping, along with J.Cole and Jay Elec albums scheduled for release too. Roc-Nation takeover!

Oh Lex Luger kills the production btw.

(Kanye West)

It was all good just a week ago, niggas feel theyselves
And that Watch The Throne drop, niggas kill theyselves
What niggas gon’ do, Hov? This a new crack, on a new stove
I’m in the two-door, true that, niggas tellin’ me, “You back”
Like a nigga ever left up out this bitch, huh?
And if life a bitch, bet she suck my dick, huh?
And I bet she fuck the whole clique, huh?
By the way, nigga, you should fuckin’ quit, nigga
Just forget, you talk it, I live it
Like Eli, I did it, joke’s on you motherfucker, and I get it
(Haha) No paper, hoe, but you can have some more of me
Or-a-gy, or are we, speaking metaphorically?
Historically, I’m kickin’ bitches out like Pam, nigga
Goin’ ham, nigga, me and Jigga
And a nigga still young, wanna have tho’ kids
But I been practicin’ wit’ some actresses that’s bad as shit
Had a few white girls, asses flat as shit
But the head so good, damn, a nigga glad he hit
Got ‘em jumpin’ out the buildin’, watch out below
A million out the door

I’m about to go ham
Hard as a motherfucker
Let these niggas know who I am

I’m about to go ham
Hard as a motherfucker
Let these niggas know who I am

Fuck y’all mad at me for? Y’all don’t even know what I been through
I played chicken wit’ a Mack truck, y’all motherfuckers woulda been moved
I swam waters wit’ Great Whites, y’all motherfuckers woulda been chewed
I hustled wit’ vultures late nights, y’all motherfuckers woulda been food
Fuck wrong with these fools? Try to walk around in these shoes
See the shit I saw growin’ up, then maybe you could take a peek at these boots
Niggas fantasize about the shit that I do daily
Like these rappers rap about all that shit that I do really
I’m like, “Really, half a billi? Nigga, really you got baby money”
Keep it real wit’ niggas, niggas ain’t got my lady money
Watch The Throne, don’t step on our road
Bad enough we let you step on our globe
When my nephew died, daddy’s dead
Niggas took the price on my uncle’s head
Nobody called the cops as my uncle bled
So I feel like I would like to know my uncle’s bread
Bow down, you ‘posed to pay homage
Don’t spill hate all on my garments
Comme des Garçons, fuck your fresh
Headshots, nigga, fuck your vest
Fuck the pig, no pork on my fork
Peace, God

‘Cause you know a nigga just went ham
Hard as a motherfucker
Let these niggas know who I am

I’m about to go ham
Hard as a motherfucker
Let these niggas know who I am

Yeah, I’m ’bout to go ham

Kanye West seems to be quite hostile towards someone (& we can’t speculate it’s Jigga anymore, because they’re the new A.G.D.), & it’s overly apparent in his mean-spirited, subliminal anti-advice wordplay. I’d hate to think all that rapper-hate innuendo speak & angst was aimed at Taylor Swift’s team or ‘The Today Show’ staff. Although, I don’t put that type of shit past anyone, let alone Kanye West.

& the second point is Jay-Z killed Kanye. On. His. Own. Shit. (Sort of.)

I’m actually looking for to this ‘Watch The Throne’ a little more with each “leak.” Especially when, lyrically, Jay-Z seems to be taking full advantage of his second wind. Kanye, on the other hand, is obviously working through new layers of his emotional pea coat.

That track sounds to me like Rick Ross &/or Twista should’ve been on it, or any one of the totally interchangable Bone Thugs ‘N’ Harmony singers, but it also sounds like it can pass for a 15 year old midwest joint, too. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, just saying.

These 2 dudes are killing rap music right now, & rightfully so. If the level of competition doesn’t step up, lyrcially & sonically, the only 2 who’ll need to watch the throne really will be Jay & Yeezy. From each other.
