Take over Isadora
I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need and no, I’m not busting out in a badly sung version of Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas. I’m only asking for a little light to guide me through the gruelling hours of research for my final year project. Ergo, this is my Christmas want.
I found this light shop after a long exhausting day at school and a wonderful meal at TARO restaurant. I had been walking through the lovely cold and bitter streets of Soho, when a bright glare caught my attention. It was at that moment that I fell in love with SKK lighting; well, their consumer market lamps to say the least.
SKK lighting, or Shiu Kay Kan, is an industrial lighting company that recently (and by recent I mean approximately 20 years ago) branched out into the consumer market. The creator Shiu Kay Kan, has an educational history in architectural lighting that could be compared to Einstein’s obsession with lighting. Therefore, he comes up with some pretty amazing concepts and designs.
Their latest design for the consumer market is the Robotor, which is inspired by the 1960s Japanese robot. The lamp rotates and even has a cool little remote control to go with it.
Now let’s talk monies!! With prices ranging from £1 for fairy lights to £80 for one of their most popular items, the t-rex lamp (although I like to call it the Godzilla lamp), a lamp from SKK is defiantly an item to go under the Christmas tree.
Although most popular retailer carrying SKK products is liberty, you can also shop SKK’s online shop and even stop by their showroom. Just make sure to have a nice warm meal before you go hunting.
