Me and my Blackberry 9700 have a love/hate relationship. We’ve had our ups and downs in the past year but right now it’s evident that our relationship is only going down hill. Last week it decided to die on me and after a few hours of resuscitation via usb + blackberry dekstop manager, I’ve managed to bring it back to life but for some reason memopad and tasks applications have vanished. Does my BB not know that I write my posts on-the-go on memopad!? how rude. Peep the BBC comedy skit on the reverse now!
Christmas is upon us so I thought it would be appropriate to have this week’s Throwback Thursday feature music of the festive nature. Being the lover of R&B and Hip-Hop that I am I couldn’t do this post without having some of my favourite Christmas songs that I play at this time of year. True my taste in music may not equal some of you out there so don’t worry I have included some of the cheesy classic that we all have come to love. Read on to get in the festive mood. Merry Christmas everyone.
I saw this video yesterday and found it mildly amusing so I thought I would share it. Everyone stresses at this time of the year because they haven’t had time to get presents and/or they don’t know what to get people. imagine if you decided to get them something ridiculous like these from the video! Nintendo condoms…really? Watch the video after the cut.

I spent at least a hour today talking about Kanye‘s work and how dope it has been this past year with one of my friends. This is new festive track from the G.O.O.D. music head is no exception. I’ve been waiting a week for the tagless version to drop and as much as I dislike the Dipset crew after their Kanye diss track, they do a good job on this. Thanks to Christmas, Mr. West is probably feeling in an apologetic mood by allowing them to hop on the track. I hope he continues releasing these freebies as I’ve been rinsing out each and every one. Peep the song after the cut, get festive ya’ll.
So this represents London? No not really, it could be anywhere in the world but ya’ll don’t have to believe me. You can see for yourself here. I got my camera back yesterday so should be able to take a lot more new photographs soon as long as the gawd damn weather doesn’t stop me. I promise better photographs than this but I weirdly like this one, it’s all the different shades in the windows. Strange?
Homie Murry over at Pure Primary never ceases to amaze me with his visual artistry. This time he takes us on a blurry journey through East London’s Dalston, Shoreditch and Brick Lane areas. The editing is on point with the beat of the song, I don’t know how he does it…a lot of patience and skill? The Kid Cudi track is PERFECT, it adds to the overall eerie vibe of the video. The video is the first in a series of ‘Pure Primary Presents’ which will feature interviews, performances and dope visuals. Shot on a Canon 5D Mark II on a 50mm 1.4 lens – one of the lenses on my January student loan shopping list. Peep the clip on the flipside.
The name Alex Da Kid should be familiar with readers as DJB first wrote about him here, with his post ‘Meet Alex Da Kid’. Since that post, 6 months have been and gone and during that time the London born producer has made even more strides forward in the industry. It would be hard to disagree that he created the biggest single of the year with Eminem and Rihanna. ‘Love The Way You Lie’ was the biggest selling song in the UK even though it only peaked at number 2. It went one step better in the US though were the track spent 7 weeks at number 1, selling over 4 million units. As if that wasn’t enough, the song has now been nominated for 5 Grammy awards including ‘Record of The Year‘ and ‘Song of The Year‘. More on the flipside.

There was a Lunar Eclipse. Who saw it? I did! Well, at least I think I saw it, but maybe it was my mind playing tricks but it stirred these thoughts from me. How comes, anyone could see it? London, America, maybe even China? More on the flipside.
Today, whilst attempting to complete the annually stressful task of Christmas shopping, I decided to trade the chaos of Oxford St for the relative quietness of Carnaby Street. I guess I wasn’t ready to get my head bashed again by a huge Apple package that had just been bought by some man carrying it on his shoulder. Yes it hurt! More after the cut for the Pretty Green surprise on Carnaby St.
