Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

The New Mini Paceman

posted by on 30/12/2010

I’ve been mean to put this for a while now but I have never got around to writing it up. I would like to present to those who have not seen before the new Mini Paceman. The new model in the brands range has been based on the recently release Crossman variant. This new model is set to compete with freshly announce Range Rove Evoke. Both cars in my opinion are sight of beauty but since this post is about the Paceman, you can view more pics of the car after the cut.

Introducing Tahirah

posted by on 30/12/2010

I did mention a few weeks ago that we would be seeing at least 4-5 new faces here at Y&Y and now it’s time to introduce another new family member. Ya’ll probably already have read her articles on our friends site SoulCulture. I won’t blabber on too much and let her introduce herself after the cut.

Shanghai 5: Skateboarding in Shanghai Documentary

posted by on 30/12/2010

I love learning how hip hop and street culture influences youth culture in different parts of the world. Shanghai-based videographer Charles Lanceplaine captures and documents the emerging skateboarding scene in the city in this beautifully shot film. The documentary also gives insight into youth culture in Shanghai, how skateboarding as a past-time contrasts with older generations’ ideals, and the changing landscape of the city. After the cut for the video.

Real Life Call Of Duty?

posted by on 30/12/2010

Hahaha. This is pretty geeky but funny as hell for all you FPS (COD!) players. I’m sure all the females are like ‘eugh even Y&Y are talking about that god forsaken game’ Tough I play the game too, well used to anyway. I haven’t had time to play games like I used to so for that reason I have yet to purchase BlackOps. Gamers who are reading this probably just gasped, yes I’ve gotten over my gaming addiction. #norehabting After the cut for the video, notice the tea bagging towards the end of the video! ha

Greenwich Maritime Museum + Royal Naval College Visit Recap

posted by on 29/12/2010

Slightly shameful to admit but I never actually set foot in the heart of Greenwich till Sunday and I’ve lived in London for my whole life. I met up with one of my best friends who I haven’t seen since February, long time I know but we’ve both had crazy busy schedules this year! We weren’t really sure what to do so decided to pick a random spot on the tube map to visit and Cutty Sark was our choice. As soon as you exit the station, it doesn’t feel like London any more. It feels like a town outside of the Capital, so quiet and peaceful. Most of the traditional architecture in the centre of town was still there and the high street didn’t have a single £ store, very unlike London ey? More on the flipside.

Great Expectations: Senior Year

posted by on 29/12/2010

I never wrote a personal post before so it feels odd but I’ll give it shot by making this one my first. For those who don’t know I’m 17 years old and a high school senior.  As I’ve matured I’ve realized life has just begun and it’s quite scary. It was only 3 years ago that I was a freshman thinking life is hard, school is difficult or I want get the hell out of high school. Now in my final year of  high school my statements made three years ago are becoming real. It’s a bit scary because it all happen so quick.  One day you’re going to pre-k/pre-school/kindergarten then you’re off to college/university. More after the cut.

Hare & Tortoise Restaurant Review

posted by on 29/12/2010

I ventured down to the Hare & Tortoise yesterday to get my grub on with my significant other. Guess what? since it was her choice of restaurant, I’ve asked her to write the review. I do apologise in advance for the lack of photography in this review, I blame the katsu curry for being far too sexy and distracting me from my camera. She takes over on the flipside. *cue Usher – Trading Places*

Eminem – Syllables (feat. Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Ca$his & Stat Quo)

posted by on 29/12/2010

Rah. At first that was my reaction, then was like WTF @ Ca$his and Stat Quo‘s inclusion on this track but Shake later announced that this track is a few years old. So much for hoping Detox was coming real soon. I’m definitely feeling this beat, it’s classic Dre and some of the verses are ill. One thing I’m definitely not feeling is Eminem‘s singing, allow it. Peep the track on the flipside, let me know what you think!

198. Cutty Sark Tube Station | LDN.365

posted by on 29/12/2010

Sorry another London Underground 365. I snapped this at Cutty Sark DLR Station; funnily enough my friend was the one who suggest I run all the way upto the end of the platform to capture this shot. I don’t think I’ve seen such a brightly lit Tube tunnel like this before, hence why I just had to photograph it. It seems my photography has become somewhat darker in the past few months, it’s not by choice – blame the lack of daytime hours!
