I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but much like Yin is to Rihanna and Yang is to Alexandra Burke I think I’m in love with Nicki Minaj. My excitement to get my hands on an upcoming album hasn’t been this high In many a year and it was only heightened when I read the news that Pink Friday would sport 17 songs. A full and proppa album none of this 10 songs crap that artists seem to push in recent years. ‘Roman’s Revenge’ is one of the tracks to feature on the set and features lyrically acclaimed rapper Eminem. Surely Slim Shady and Nicki’s alter ego Roman Zolanski on one track can only produce FIRE? Check it out for yourself.
Hopefully one of you took part in the Wrangler ‘Stop Thinking’ campaign this weekend, if so I would love to know how it went! Last Thursday, Surgery PR hosted a press evening for the edgy denim brand over at their show room just off Carnaby Street. Here they showcased their spring/summer collection for next year. Read on..

Doesn’t look real does it? Looks more like a building made out of Lego but I assure you, it’s a photograph. What adds to the fantasy-like feel is the clear blue sky! it’s been a common site for the past few weeks, we’ve had strange weather this season. If you haven’t checked out the museum, ya’ll are missing out.
This is fresh. The creator SomeofmyWork™ aka Jim says he started out this video as his contribution for a Nike sponsored arts based project where the artists were asked to create a piece that interprets the role of running shoes in relation to sport. He decided to take it in a direction where he chose to portray running shoes as shoes that we no longer solely use for running but as shoes we LIVE our life in. The idea is so simple but effective; he’s shot the shoes in various different locations across Europe including Manchester, London, Paris, Nice, Genova, Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt, Brussels, Edinburgh and Nairn on all sort of different terrains to display it’s versatility. Clearly a sponsored project if he got to travel to all of them locations! Continues after the cut.
Bet ya’ll misread Timberland for Timbaland the producer! HA. Well this came as a surprise, who knew N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell co-owned Bionic Yarn, a company that creates fabrics made from 50% organic cotton and 38% recycled plastic bottles. I couldn’t help but think of Bionic Bunny off the kids TV cartoon Hey Arthur! when I read the company name haha. The producer has teamed up with the footwear brand Timberland to create more than 90 different shoes and boots from this special canvas. If they all look as fresh the pair pictured above, I’ll definitely eff with them. Dope eco-friendly kicks for the win.
My poetry post last week was slightly serene; accepting that people, will hurt me in the future has never stirred me in the right way, but like I said, denying pain will ultimately result in the prevention of your emotional growth. I thought this week I’d go a different way.
