From the LA LA land in the US of A comes a fresh in-your-face garage rock band that is gaining momentum in the “underground” scene. With a unique marketing technique to distribute their albums and their edgy sound, KILLOLA have managed to self-produce and release four albums during the course of seven years. In 2007, they also managed to book appearances to small venues across the UK; thirteen cities in thirteen days.
In all honesty I stumbled upon this band after my ScanDisk was sabotaged by some five-finger discount folk. Highly annoyed, but nonetheless grateful to have my ScanDisk back I managed to enjoy some of the new music files I found on it. After listening to KILLOLA and desiring to know more about the band, I found the video for their recent single Cracks in the Armor off the band’s fourth album Let’s Get Associated. I must admit the concept is rather elementary, if not at the very least entertaining. However, as a media student I can fully appreciate the amount of effort that was needed to produce such a project. So whether KILLOLA are your cup of tea or you fancy something else, let your eyes feast on some much needed visual stimulation.
