As mentioned in yesterday’s LDN.365 post, me and my lady friend attended the Stella Artois World Draught Masters Final (such a long title, I’ve missed words out intentionally). We actually arrived late to the event thanks to her, we all know women take their time when getting ready! The location, Old Billingsgate was definitely a classy venue for this kind of event. Everyone was in their finest suits and ladies in their cocktails dresses, all in 60s chic-esque feel. The event was the finale of the global challenge to find the world’s best draught master, in other words the bartender who can pour the best pint of Stella. More after the cut.
Till the other week when we attended the master class, I actually had no clue that pint pouring was an art form. I just assumed it always tasted the same, bitter and gross. I’ve never been a fan of beer, it’s just too bitter for my liking but I discovered when it’s actually poured properly – it’s quite easy to drink. Regardless of that, I still hate the taste. As we had missed most of the earlier rounds, we had no clue who was the best! the winner in the end was an American bartender. No idea what his name was unfortunately. I was too busy downing my one pint of Stella, the only drink on offer that night…no surprise there. Peep below for a few photographs and a video from the event. It was a fun night! Major props to David.
