Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

T-Mobile Latest Flash Mob To Air Tonight #t5welcome

posted by on 30/10/2010

At 10:15 this following advert will air on over 80 digital and terrestrial television channels across the country but you get to see it exclusively online before then. Over the past few years T-Mobile has re-invented flash mobbing by taking it to a whole new level – first with the Liverpool Street station stand still then over at Trafalgar Square with a massive sing-a-long. Now they’ve taken it to a whole new level in my opinion, the best one yet by taking it upon themselves to welcome back hundreds of travels at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 in their own special way. Look out for the Indian guy ‘Oh ma Gad I can’t believe it’ advert on the flipside.

Michael Jackson: Ghosts

posted by on 30/10/2010

No this isn’t a really really late reference to clip of the late great’s Ghost caught during a CNN interview at his house shortly after he passed. But I thought it would be interesting to show what I consider the original “RUNAWAY” by Kanye West. Why you ask? Simply put they both deal with being ridiculed for being different. Video after the jump.

Justin Timberlake Tells Fans His Music Career Is Not Over

posted by on 30/10/2010

Justin Timberlake hosted his annual charity concert in Las Vegas this past weekend with an abundance of guests. During the concert he took to the stage to deliver a stellar rendition of one of his most famous hits ‘Cry Me A river’. He infused this hit with ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ and Drake‘s ‘Over’ and it was during his take on Over that he mentioned to the crowd “Don’t be pissed off I’m an actor It’s not over…….and when I come back imma come harder……..It’s far from over”. evidently he was referring to his music career and judging by that performance he needs to come back sooner rather than later. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him sing better before and it just reminded me how talented he is. His singing in this video fire! check out his smooth vocals on the flipside.

posted by on 29/10/2010

Although the winter is here I know that many of us have been left behind in regards to our preparation for the coldness. Some of us are struggling to make outfits work because they are just not right for this blizzard weather but we stay tryna make them work because that’s all we got lol. Throw on a coat an we will be alright……wrong its time to invest in some new clothes. Dexter Wong’s Peoples Market have released images from their 2010 Fall/Winter collection if you’re stuck for ideas of what to buy I suggest looking through numerous lookbooks. Check the collection out when you read on.

The i | Independent's New Bite Size Edition

posted by on 29/10/2010

I have been searching for ages for a good piece of reading material for my commute to the office every day. When I first started on the journeys I imagined myself using the two hours that the journey takes up in my day to do really useful things like planning my life and filling my brain with lots of useful information. Until today I hadn’t found anything that remotely matched up to my expectations, formerly sticking in my headphones and having a snooze or playing a good old game of sudoku. More after the cut.

Diddy x Dirty Money – Loving You No More | Music Video

posted by on 29/10/2010

‘Loving You No More’ is the latest track to come from the much delayed Last train To Paris (LTTP) album by Diddy-Dirty Money which is finally going to be released on December 14th. The song which features man of the moment Drake is by far my favourite track to be released from this LTTP project. I posted the song in Music News Weekly a while ago and now I present to you the freshly released music video. Diddy-Dirty Money is serving up some heat with this project what with the release of ‘Angels’ and the Angel remix, ‘Hello Good Morning’ and its remix things are looking good for the album. It’s just a shame public interest is dwindling due multiple delays. In any event peep the glossy well shot video on the flipside.

137. Inside Regent's Park Station | LDN.365

posted by on 29/10/2010

Who said Underground Tube stations are fugly? This one is pretty nice and traditional, love the tiling on the sides. However 75% of Tube stations are awful, the whole service majorly sucks. It’s such a let down for the city and I don’t see them improving the service before 2012 Olympics. BTW This is my 1000th post on the site, a week before our 1st birthday. I’ll do a post tomorrow with my top 5 posts.

The Miseducation of a Barbie Doll: Jasmine Mans

posted by on 29/10/2010

With the uprising of rapper Nicki Minaj there’s been a lot that has come with her “success” such as the Harujuku Barbies movement, the Nickitionary and the phenomenon of being a “bad bitch“. With all of this going on it leaves me wonder what people consider real and fake and shit sells. While on facebook a friend of mine introduced me to a poet by the name of Jasmine Mans. Mans is a 19 year old poet hailing from Newark, New Jersey known for the poem “Nicki Minaj“. While achieving wide praise over her poems Mans has been able to open for the likes of Janelle Monáe, Wyclef Jean and Mos Def. In the poem Nicki Minaj, Mans expresses how female rappers have sold themselves all for the sake of  being in the industry.  More after the cut.

Throwback Thursday – Kids TV Show Theme Songs

posted by on 28/10/2010

It’s been a while since I wrote a Throwback Thursday‘s post. I’ve decided to switch it up this week and dedicate this week’s post to the classic kids TV theme songs. I know most of you still remember the words the Hey Arthur! theme, it’s such a feel good song. In fact I have it on my iPod *red face* that song and more classics picked by the Y&Y team after the cut.
