Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

JS Wings 3M | Adidas x Jeremy Scott

posted by on 25/08/2010

The Adidas x Jeremy Scott collaboration has been going on for a fair few seasons now with some of the designs becoming an instant hit whilst some others can only be described as WTF. The now infamous JS wings sneaker is one that has blown up to be a huge success leading to the sneaker to be featured, in some form, in pretty much every collection. With the many different variations of the sneaker it was hard to see what JS would do next, well today I bring you the answer to that very question. Here we have the next generate of the sneaker dubbed ‘3M’. Peep more pics when you read on.

72. Blackfriars Bridge Subway Entrance | LDN.365

posted by on 25/08/2010

I love my darker photos, in fact if I had the choice this collection would be full of eerie horror film like photos. These subway tunnels are god damn scary at night, so quiet and echo-ey. We actually got lost and managed to walk around in a full circle. *embarrassed face* Full-view recommended as always!

The Land of Giants

posted by on 25/08/2010

Choi & Shine architects, won the ‘2010 Boston Society of Architects Unbuilt Architecture’ with their Land of Giants project. It features electricity pylons that were once dull statues of nothingness eloquently shaped into standing people. I remember the days when my brother and I were so bored on our drives down the A45 we used to try and count how many there were between junctions, yes that’s how bored we were.

French Connection AW10 Collection

posted by on 24/08/2010

Looks like French Connection are sticking with the ‘This is the Man/Woman’ campaign, the campaign that saved them from their dry spell. Have to say I am liking the new collection, a great mix of outerwear and chunky knitwear. The photos look amazing; Cinematographer Edward Grau shot them in Budapest. Check out some shots from the campaign…

71. Power, LCC | LDN.365

posted by on 24/08/2010

Typography Tuesday maybe? Today’s LDN.365 features artwork that was featured outside of my University. You already know I’m going to refer to the Kanye song! ‘No one man should have all that power’. I’ll say once again, my university is dope for creative inspiration.

Dowling Duncan Redesign US Bank Notes

posted by on 24/08/2010

So New York-based designer Richard Smith is holding a competition ‘The Dollar ReDe$ign Project’, in hops to bring about change for everyone. He wants to rebrand the US dollar in hope of rebuilding financial confidence and revive the US’s failing economy. This entry by Dowling Duncan is amazing, I love the modern, clean cut look to them all. However I don’t think it’ll ever get chosen, it’s not timeless. I love Helvetica but it just isn’t classy enough to be featured on a bank note.  Lastly Barrack on a bank note? Are you mad? No chance. Their explanations for the designs and more after the cut.

X-factor Using Auto-Tune Technique

posted by on 24/08/2010

I’m sorry, but let me the first to complain about the auto-tuning used in this years X Factor auditions. OK, so first we heard Gamu Nhengu, aged 18 singing ‘Walking on Sunshine’. She had a nice voice (not sure about the accent, kind of an African meets a Scotsman in an American cab), good tone, looks pretty etc and then in comes this robotic monotone noise and all of a sudden she’s applauded. Are you for real? The auto-tune sounds like a Transformers cyborg that has morphed into a microphone doing a solo. Now THAT is something I would buy into! More on the flipside.

Air Jordan II Retro Candy Pack

posted by on 24/08/2010

Air Jordan’s latest collection of sneakers feature a classic design and bold colours the new shoes come in: deep green, deep red or Yellow. Each colourway carries a black and white sole with white stitching. Overall think these are pretty slick, I’m liking how its just one colour with black and white stitching- its simple but different to what we usually see from Jordan these days. These are set to launch in late October so keep your eyes peeled if you’re keen.
