Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 26/08/2010

For today’s Throwback Thursday I wanted to select tracks that I feel people may have forgotten. I have been listening to my iTunes library on shuffle over the last couple of days and it has been refreshing to hear songs that I haven’t heard for such a long time. On many occasions I found myself saying OMG I remember this song, something which I hope this post will do to you today. I have so many songs that I wanna post right now but I will restrict myself to only five. Although I am a true R&B lover I have selected songs that are all very different, this is to show diversity and to cater to readers who have a different taste in music to me. I hope you enjoy.

Uniqlo +J F/W10 Collection

posted by on 26/08/2010

So Uniqlo’s J+ line is sticking around this season as they plan to launch their new collection early October. I think the collection will be promising, solely because since Uniqlo introduced the line they’ve continued to produce great stuff every time. There’s not much to go on in these photos, more to come for sure. At first glance I am in two minds, it’s really clean cut and formal, I would say quite Paul Smith-esque. However the shoot looks like its been styled by Edgar Allan Poe, there is just too much grey it’s too dull, and why does the model look like he has just gotten out of bed? At least do your hair before a photoshoot.

The Herschel Supply Co. “Village” Backpack

posted by on 26/08/2010

The Herschel Supply Co. is a Canadian-based brand known for their high quality blend of casual street style travel goods. You’re looking at the “Village” backpack made with premium materials and a classic design, the bag features a perforated synthetic leather bottom which can be used as an extra compartment; and incase you’re wondering, the bag is big enough to fit a 17” Macbook Pro and don’t worry this one is fleece lined which will provide maximum protection! I love these bags, they look great and they’re really practical , who said you couldn’t have form and function all at once. If you visit their website and check out the lookbook you’ll see better photos including the inside…

Bleu De Chanel – Fragrance + Advert

posted by on 26/08/2010

Peep Chanel‘s latest men’s fragrance offering, Bleu De Chanel. If you’ve read my past reviews then you would know for the past 4-5 years I’ve been bathing myself in Black XS. Not many use it and chicks damn sure love it but I think I’ve just found a fragrance that actually smells better. I’m not going to go into a detailed review in this post, that will come at some point this weekend. It’s a stunning woody-aromatic fragrance created by Jacques Polge and guess who they’ve got directing the commercial for it? None other than Mr. Martin Scorsese. Peep the video after the cut featuring Ginola-lookalike Fench actor, Gaspard Ulliel.

Mr.Bathing Ape Fall/Winter 2010

posted by on 26/08/2010

See I love it when streetwear brands show progression and growth, BAPE is doing exactly that. They’ve released a lookbook for their upcoming collaboration  collection called Mr.Bathing Ape. I actually quite like the theme of the lookbook and a few of the pieces but I dislike the styling. I expected better as the Japanese are reknowned for their styling especially layering. The range features more tailoring, accessories as well as some knitwear this time around. Photos on the flipside folks.

RIP Aaliyah 9 Years On

posted by on 25/08/2010

Me I’m not really an R&B kinda person but I’m shocked to see and hear that a lot of people either forgot or didn’t know who Aaliyah was. Learn who she was and hear some of best tracks after the cut.

Could This Be The New Apple iMac Touch?

posted by on 25/08/2010

Apple products have become some of the most desired pieces of technology and have helped solidify the fruity giant become one of the leaders if not the leader in whichever market they chosen to take over. I am a true admirer of Apple products but my affection for the brand and its goods is purely based on aesthetics (I know I’m shallow). Although my fondness runs deep, I am yet to own one of their laptops or desktops, something I hope to change in the very near future. However I might hold off buying an iMac until the next generation is released because if this news is anything to go by then it will be another must have item produced by the genius that is Apple. More after the Jump.

Supreme Fall/Winter 2010 Collection – Hats

posted by on 25/08/2010

I’m not a huge fan of the brand but I adore the slanted Futura font logotype. It’s iconic, they’re the originators! I’ve seen 100s of amateur brands try and rip it off especially the UK streetwear brands and even some streetwear blogs, you’ll see a few of them at Reset IV this weekend. I won’t be in attendance this time, just go read my post on the last one to see why. Check out some of the hats from Supreme‘s collection after the cut.

Legacy of Letters Live Render Typography

posted by on 25/08/2010

It would take me a few days/weeks to recreate what Luca Barcellona has done in the video. He live renders the typography with such ease and expertise, effortless really. Such a beautiful font as well, must go hunting. I think I’ll write a few posts with my own encounters with typography as well as featuring more typographical work in future. Video after the cut.
