Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

39. WeSC Store | LDN.365

WeSC definitely hosted a dope summer party, I hope for more like this. It’s like a mini-block party, we don’t usually get those around London. I know this is a little different to my usual 365 photos but it’s time to switch it up a bit by adding more photos of events I’ve been to. Otherwise this would just be a boring old tour guide, we do actually ‘live’ a little in London. Click the image for a better view and more on the actual event in a separate post.

1 x 10 x 100 = 1000

posted by on 23/07/2010

Time has flown by, it’s almost been 10 months since Y&Y launched and this is the 1000th post. It’s taken some hard work and dedication to post on a daily basis but we love it and it’s slowly starting to reap rewards from doing so. Since launch we have been read by people from 161 different countries. It shocks and flatters me that people all over the globe have read what we’ve written. It’s only the beginning of things here at Y&Y – expect more videos, even more product reviews, styling tips for the upcoming season and more. Continues after cut.

Prada A/W10 Fantasy Lookbook

posted by on 23/07/2010

Produced and directed by OMA: Alexander Reichert & Fausto Fantinuoli and photographed by Phil Meech; fashion meets photography meets illustration to create Prada’s AW10 fantasy lookbook. I’m all for ideas that are different and i’m even more for brands that feel no way to think outside the box and do something thats unexpected and original and this is one of those things! I think its brilliant art but does it really serve its purpose as a campaign for a luxury brand? I’m not too sure because I don’t think it really reflects what we’re to expect from the collection. Having said that it’s eye catching an appealing to a certain audience so in that sense it works, have a look at the photos.. what do you think?

The Original Hipster by Julia Chesky

posted by on 23/07/2010

When we think of hipster we usually think of people among the ages of 20′s- 30′s who think they’re “cool”, listen to the best music, go to tons of parties, and often think they can dress even when they happen to be wearing three million trends all at once. Because they’re  that cool. I’m going to assume we have seen one before. You can usually spot them from a mile away. But because of the contradictory ways, making it difficult to define what a “hipster” is. Parsons Graduate Julia Chesky presents her series of photographs entitled “The Original Hipster“. The series shows the easy, effortless styling of homeless model Chris. More after cut.

T.I. – Got Your Back (feat. Keri Hilson) Music Video

posted by on 22/07/2010

T.I. just dropped his 2nd video from his upcoming album. He’s teamed up with brown skin beauty Keri Hilson and the video also features cameos from the likes of Lance Gross, Jill Marie Jones and T.I.’s long term girlfriend, Tiny. The song has grown on me a lot but the video isn’t any special. Keri needs to lose the dark lipstick, it’s not hot on her. Video after the cut.

Y-3 A/W Campaign Video

posted by on 22/07/2010

Y-3 is fast becoming one of my favourite lines this year, you’ve seen a few previews here but now they’ve finally released the official promotional video for their A/W campaign featuring Zinedine Zidane. Like i’ve said before Y-3 is the perfect mix of street wear and high fashion which really enhances their collections and therefore stands out. I’m quite impressed by this video, I like tone and the fact that its in black and white; 52 seconds into the video, you’ll see an amazing pair of trainers (at least that’s what I think they are) something I’m definitely looking forward to as soon it’s available! Enjoy the video here..

Throwback Thursdays | The Smooth Grooves Edition

posted by on 22/07/2010

Now this is my first foray into one of the sites most integral asset. I have, for a long time, wanted to contribute to this section but I thought it was a section that was undeniably linked with Yin and Yang. Take me back Tuesdays was a consideration for a while but I thought it wouldn’t make sense to have two similar post series. Hence my first Throwback Thursday post. I like to think that I have a good and diverse music catalogue and it is my aim to induce a sense of nostalgia and joy when reminiscing on the tracks that I submit. Today’s Throwback Thursday post I think should consist of tracks that I enjoy and feel people may have forgotten, so I present to you Throwback Thursday the smooth groves edition

Tony Hawk's Skateboard Tour 2010 – Rome Video

posted by on 22/07/2010

When you think skateboarding, you think Tony Hawks. He is without a doubt the Godfather of the sport, I could lie and tell ya’ll that I’m a skater as I own a board but naw. I attempted skateboarding after playing endless of hours of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 only to land flat on my face and never to try again. It’s just not for me. I don’t have the dare devil in me to risk getting hurt, peep this video of Tony showing off his art in Rome.
