With the World Cup less than a month away expect a lot more posts regarding it in the next few weeks, I pretty much eat, sleep and drink football during the competition period. You won’t see me doing anything else, trust me. I won’t even answer my phone if you call me during a match females. Dazed & Confused have put together this dope editorial using Nike‘s new World Cup shirts. The shirt itself is made out of recycled plastic bottles, check out the editorial after the cut.
Anderson Cooper of CNN has done another one of his controversial and thought-provoking studies. He spoke to students in Georgia as young as 5 to gauge whether kids still have a racial bias at a young age in 2010. The video is interesting yet disturbing. We have it when you read on…
His face expression says it all. Justin Bieber has been nominated for a B.E.T. Award, for those of you that don’t know B.E.T. stands for Black Entertainment Television. Jimmy Kimmel sent out a team to South Central LA to interview African Americans and their opinions on wonder boy’s recent nomination. ‘ouch’ ‘his haircut is the bomb’ some of the reactions are funny as hell, peep the video after the cut.
I just had to use this photo one way or another, it’s actually Drake in the photo. LOL. It’s been a while since our last Throwback Thursdays post, 2 weeks in fact. We’ve been slacking, allow us! so today I’ve decided to hunt down some of the samples Drake uses in his songs. I spent the whole of last night (till 6am, still jet-lagged >.<) hunting down them down. After the cut for the songs.
Clever. How would you get the attention of young creatives to join the advertising industry? These guys have put together a 1:20 min long clip of a fairly attractive chick with a beautiful voice making a speech using 30 memorable slogans. This was created by Memac Ogilvy Dubai for their Portfolio Night, video after the jump.
I’ve said it this before and I’ll say it again, Nike never FAIL when it comes to advertising. This new campaign ‘Write The Future’ puts football stars Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in hypothetical situations that may occur this summer at the World Cup. I for one certainly hope Rooney doesn’t eff up like he does in the advert. The shot of Ribery‘s billboard was pretty amusing. The second advert portrays Ronaldo living up his newly found celebrity status as he has a statue erected in his honour. More adverts after the cut.
I fucks with Rihanna‘s music. Yeh we all know she’s not as vocally talented as Alicia or Beyoncé but why is she one of the biggest selling artists of this millenium if her music sucks? I know MOST of you have been whining yourselves her last single ‘Rude Boy’ in clubs, don’t lie now. Here’s a sneak peak of her next US single ‘Rockstar 101‘, she looks damn fine as usual. Sneak peak on the flipside.
One of my friends from College (I’m so Americanized now) has entered a prestigious advertising competition, The Cannes Young Lions Ad Contest and she needs your votes. Some of you may remember her photography work that I posted back in November: click here. All you have to do is ‘like‘ her entry on YouTube, the link for the advert after the cut.
I’m back in London now with a faster internet connection so I’m finally able to catch up with all the news I’ve missed out and update ya’ll with one last post of all sorts of randomness that happened in the past week. Photos from all around the big city including places such as Central Park and the Plaza. Peep the blurry photo of Denzel Washington I took, I had to climb up onto a lamp post to get that shot. More after the cut.
