The City That Never Sleeps

posted by on 12/03/2010

Boston Big Picture never fails with their photo blogs and this is one is no exception. Photographer Jason Hawkes has shot a few amazing photos of New York City at night. From Hawkes himself: “The images of New York were shot on Nikons latest camera, the D3S, using three gyro stabilizing mounts and flown using twin star helicopters. We flew from heights of just over 500 ft up to 2,500-ft with no doors on, it was very very cold.” I can’t wait for our class trip to NYC in May now, the city looks like it has so much soul even in photos it shines and radiates. Photos after the jump.

I can see myself falling in love with the city in the few days we are there, it looks extraordinary in these photos. I can never leave London for a smaller city and New York by no means is a smaller city. I fully recommend you click the photos and view them full-size.
