Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Y-3 x The Last Magazine – The Third Wave

posted by on 28/02/2010

Here’s a a unique film collaboration between Benjamin Millepied and Y-3 for The Last Magazine: The Third Wave. The mesmerizing dancing choreographed by Millepied and magnificently captured by the Last Magazine director, Magnus Berger. The film features dancers interlocking, tucking and pulling their bodies as if they were ocean waves themselves. For us to fully appreciate the beautiful motions, the dancer wore Y-3 garments  from the SS10 range in black to create a contrast in this grayscale film.

Paintings By Nick Gentry

Art is about the expression but to me its more about originality, I like things that are different- that stand out. Browsing the web I came across and artist’s website, his name is Nick Gentry. When I looked at his work first I was envious because I cannot do what I had just seen; but still really impressed not only at his skill as an artist but his originality.

posted by on 27/02/2010

So its my first Saturday off work in a long while and what do I do!? Spend the whole bloody day in bed feeling sorry for myself because I thought I was too nice downing glasses of wine and vodka (note to self: NEVER DO THAT AGAIN), at Amika last night!

Earthquake in Chile

posted by on 27/02/2010

My God. It has happened again! this time in Chile. what the hell is going on in 2010? 2 massive world disasters in the first two months. The earthquake hit at 3:34am today with a magnitude of 8.8 on the Richter scale which makes it one of the worst earthquakes ever. So far over 140 deaths have been counted Just as we thought things couldn’t get any worse the earthquake also triggered a Tsunami which is navigating its way around the Pacific Ocean and set to arrive in Hawaii in a few hours time. It’s surreal that we’re all waiting for it to happen and have no power whatsoever to prevent it from happening despite all of our technological advances. It’s scary to say the least. Information on how to donate and photos after the jump.

Femme Bot – Cathy & DeyDey Nguyen

posted by on 27/02/2010

We met these 2 sisters backstage at the Kymberlee Jay’s event a few weeks ago and they came across really shy and innocent. However when they got on stage, they went HARD. I’m not joking they’re actually next level, I haven’t seen many poppers as good as they are. After some youtube researching, I found out they have won various dance competitions all around the world such World Poppin Champion and Stylefest. Infact DeyDey was in Katy Perry’s annoyingly catching song ‘Hot & Cold’ video! On the flipside for some of their performance videos.

G-Shock March 2010 Releases

posted by on 27/02/2010

Casio just unveiled their March releases for their G-Shock. This time they’ve focused on the GA110 model rather than the DW-5600 and DW-6900s models which usually take the lime light. It’s definitely a very colourful pack of watches! I’m digging the multicoloured watch, it really reminds me of Lego for some reason. Some of the other colorways are kind of gross to be honest, photos after the cut.

BBC & Ice Cream Launch European Online Store

Pharell and Nigo’s clothing line Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream just launched their European webstore. It is becoming common for all these high-end streetwear brands to launch webstore but they lose their exclusivity in doing this. One can guarantee you’ll be seeing alot more people wearing BBC threads in London. I love the look he’s rocking in the photo but do i have a spare £530 to spend on that cardigan! some of their prices are ridiculous but hey better start saving/wait for student loan. click the link to jump to their store.

Gary Chang's Domestic Transformer

posted by on 26/02/2010

This is actually crazy. Hong Kong-based Architect, Gary Chang decided to renovate his 32 square meter apartment where he used to live as a child with his parents, 3 younger sisters and one room was rented out to an outsider. Named the ‘Domestic Transformer‘ this revolutionary flat features a futuristic sliding wall system which enables up to 24 different room combinations. I love the lighting created by the tinted windows, it makes the room feel summery all the time. The giant mirror on the ceiling makes the room feel more spacious and the reflection on the marble is quite classy tbh. More photos and a link to a video after the cut.

45 King Produces Hard Knock Life

posted by on 26/02/2010

Well, I came across this a few days ago but haven’t had time to post it as I was working on an essay till 4:30am this morning and I’m already up. Today in my calender is going to be a Red Bull day. Hard Knock Life for me is one of the best Jay-Z tracks ever, the beat is insane. I remember when I first heard it back in the day when I had never heard anything like it. This video gives you both sides of the story in the production of this ghetto anthem; quite incredible as 45 King discovered the sample in a thrift store. Believe it or not, Jay-Z recorded this song in one go. Dopeee. I fully recommend anyone who loves Hip-Hop to watch this.

Karate Kid 2010 Trailer #2

posted by on 25/02/2010

A new trailer for the remake of Karate Kid featuring the son of Fresh Prince, Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan just dropped . I wasn’t so sure about remaking a classic after watching the first trailer but now I’m definitely a little annoyed by Hollywood. If ya’ll click play and watch the trailer you’ll know what I mean, Jackie Chan’s character is teaching the kid kung-fu?! Kung-fu in a film that is titled ‘Karate’ Kid. It’s like paying to go watch a football game and when you get there that they’re playing rugby. meh. Trailer on the flipside.
